It was my favourite of the bunch, although IMO it should've been two books instead. But I understand he wanted a trilogy, it being the Three Body Problem and all that.

Enjoy the ride!

Just want to say, this is the first NSFW-marked post I have seen on Lemmy since joining over a year ago.

Hello, fellow IT person. One day we will need the VGA cables we have saved.

Big companies avoid risk too much, they want to make revenue, not games. I haven't been interested in any AAA game in some 10 years. They're all just the same open-world, microtransaction-DLC, soon-to-be advertisement platform with uninspired gameplay features.

Independent developers on the other hand are innovating and making cool and fun games.

My friend loves the game but thinks there is nothing to do anymore... I kind of agree with him in a way. We've done the dungeons, we've done the JPs, diving goggles, we've done parts of the story which he doesn't really vibe with. Raiding and Fractals would be dope, but not doable with just 2-3 players.

His biggest issue is probably the "activity" mechanics. Story = listen to characters talking, fight wave of enemies, do a fetch quest, fight wave of enemies... Open world is not too much better.

I really enjoyed this show even if it was not mind-breaking or anything. Very grounded an mostly realistic. It is also amongst the best looking 3D anime in existence right now.

It is really unfortunate how they have messed up the distribution. For most of the world, fansubs are unfortunately still the only way to see Girls Band Cry without running through hoops.

While not open source, Here WeGo is also an alternative to Google. I think Here may be more focused on driving.

I think it has a definitive ending. Not going to watch it again to confirm though.

It has been 9 years since I watched it, but eh... IMO it became a complete trainwreck halfway through. A key character unexpectedly does a full 180° personality switch. Plot elements do not get explained properly. But at least audiovisually the show is a treat.

What is interesting to me is how your occupation would be identified.
Face value? What if you are a Japanese citizen, but look like a foreign person due to genes. Edit: or if you look Asian but are not a local.
Speaking fluent Japanese? What if you are a tourist who has learned the language.
Would you need to show your ID at every establishment to prove you are not a tourist?
