In some European countries, the authorities are taking rigorous action against film and music piracy. Even downloading a single file can lead to fines, criminal proceedings and warnings.

In Switzerland, the legal situation is somewhat different. Here, you can download or stream certain content from the internet without paying for it under certain circumstances.

LoL my current Gentoo system was installed like 12 years ago and moved on 5 different hardware platforms without a proper reinstall.

I have said myself to never peek in the /etc directory for any reason! πŸ˜…

I use it because YouTube music is included and it's great while driving, it allows background play even with the screen off (I'm talking about mobile).

There's something more, but nothing that a pro user cannot already do with third tools.

In Switzerland (where German is used as language), the ß is not used, so everything is "ss".

People would literally rather care more about why are you on lemmy or reddit during work time than your sexual preferences.

NSFW is an American construct, in Europe people don't get scared by nudity. If Lemmy is truly worldwide, we can get rid of it.

I like traditional scrolling, that's how I learnt and how I like it on all my computers.

Unfortunately, I also have a MacBook, which I love! The touchpad scrolls the "Natural" way, like on any modern phone, but if you plug in a mouse, it scrolls the "Natural" way, too. Which I hate! You can change the scrolling direction in the settings, but that will change the scrolling direction for the touchpad as well, so I'm stuck.

It's so frustrating that I gave up using a mouse on the MacBook.

Why would Plex block a specific hosting provider!?

They have approximately now lost over 5000 subscribers which equates to about $25000 per month or $300000 per year in lost revenue.
