Well maybe, I think it might be an acquired taste: all the little imperfections derived by the industrial technique in which a vinyl is made make it sound a little weirder but that's the main reason you start to like it. Imperfection is something that might grow on you if yoh give it a chance

CDs are better than vinyl in the same exact way reddit is better than lemmy: cheap, easier to manage, mainstream content. If you look for a sound that's not strictly higher quality but that gives you a more authentic vibe, vinyl is the way

So you are able to understand the specific content of a generic comment!
Good for you pal! Now go and read my first comment once again because I can tell that you still didn't understand the point I was trying to make back then.

I'm giving it a fair spin tomorrow at band rehersal, but paired with my small marshall-like practice amp sounded great. The LED clipping is the funniest part for sure, squealy and dirty, Asymmetrical clippling is really nice, sounds like a SD-1 which is a style of overdrive I've always been fond of and the boost is a clean boost, no glory or infamy with that.
I still have to get the hang of the gain knob that seem to work in very different ways based on the mode you choose.

Volume, Gain and Tone!
Plus it has a switch for asymmetrical clipping, clean boost and LED clipping

That plus the fact that everyone entered this thread with an opinion that is limited to one aspect of the matter, which is fine by the way until you try to derail the conversation towards that specific opinion so that you can pull it out totally out of context like a priest's cock

This is one of the reasons digital has so many haters: if you don't have convenience over analog what's even the point?

This isn't Reddit xD

It's always going to be unfair when the game is going to be "how strong am I?" because it will always boil down to genetics. If your body is more suited than mine to shoot punches you are going to win, regardless of sex, gender, ethnicity or age: basically the Olympics are a "Biggest Pumpkin Competition" but with a better advertising campaign.

So all of this rhetoric of "should we test athletes for testosterone" is fucking dumb on both sides.
Give them fucking chainsaws and let them massacre each other for my entertainment.

Yeah I'm sorry, sometimes in sake of brevity you skip some premises thinking an average minded person would be able to put it together on their own

I'm not talking about that, my whataboutistic friend, I'm talking about this specific episode that's being used as a media case to rage-bait people.

Last month a friend of mine gifted me his 1997 Epiphone Les Paul 100. He bought it at a pawn shop 15 years ago, played twice and left it at his parents' house since.
It was all beat up and dusty, the wood was so dry and brittle that when I poured olive oil in the truss rod shaft, it made the sound of someone taking the last sip of soda with a straw.
The stock electronics were really cheap to begin with and all this time made them disgustingly crunchy.

And one of the previous owners swapped the stock knobs with four Strat style tone knobs, which should be enough to be condemned for war crimes and be waterboarded for years.

So I spent the last month rummaging second hand websites and shops for spare parts. The best deal I got was finding these wonderful Tesla Opus-2, humbucker sized P90 pickups that sound wonderful. Even at full price they are crazy value for the money, and I paid a little more than half of it.

I also gave it a new guts transplant with full sized potentiometers, shielding with copper tape and alluminum foil and a different knobs configuration: both volume knobs on top, both tone knobs on bottom. Gibson purists are gonna hate me, but I feel it more natural for me this way.

Unfortunately I got ripped off by the guy who sold me the tuning machine heads, as one was broken (I should have checked better). So for now I kept one of the old ones for the low E string. I wasn't really happy at first but it's slowly growing on me. I might end up keeping it this way.

As for now I'm really pleased with the result: this is the first Les Paul I ever owned and also the first guitar I fully renovated from the ground up.
Giving a second life to this beautiful instrument has been super fun and taught me a lot, so if you have any questions feel free to ask

PARIS, Sept 12 (Reuters) - Apple must stop selling its iPhone 12 model in France due to above-threshold radiation levels, France's junior minister for the digital economy told newspaper Le Parisien in an interview published on Tuesday.

France's radiation watchdog ANFR notified Apple of its decision to ban iPhone 12 sales after it had carried out tests which showed the smartphone's Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) was slightly higher than legally allowed, Jean-Noel Barrot told the paper.

Apple did not immediately reply to a Reuters request for comment.

Barrot said a software update would be sufficient to fix the radiation issues linked to the phone which the U.S. company has been selling since 2020.

"Apple is expected to respond within two weeks", he said, adding: "If they fail to do so, I am prepared to order a recall of all iPhones 12 in circulation. The rule is the same for everyone, including the digital giants."

The European Union has set safety limits for SAR values linked to exposure to mobile phones, which could increase the risk of some forms of cancer according to scientific studies.

The French watchdog will now pass on its findings to regulators in other EU member states. "In practical terms, this decision could have a snowball effect", said Barrot.

In 2020, France widened regulations requiring retailers to display the radiation value of products on packaging beyond cell phones, including tablets and other electronic devices.

Every time I google a solution for a simple problem (like where to find a feature of a software in its menus or how to calculate something) I always have to navigate past the dozen youtube links to find the article or manual that tells me the solution in 10 lines of text.
If your tutorial could be a webpage then you shouldn't do it.

Edit: to all the people that suggest to make a specific query in the search, that's just a partial solution because there are times I don't know the entity of the solution and youtube could be a good place to look for.
