I've never seen any warnings etched into guns before, but I haven't seen any newer guns made since like the mid 90s.

All I've ever seen etched into guns was the brand name, ammo size, serial number, and where the safety button/switch is.

Well, yeah, but the gun is safe right? Right...

I've literally seen pocket lighters that had a warning that said "Do not use near fire or flame", coming from a device literally designed to generate fire! 😂

People have already proven themselves excessively stupid, I don't see why guns aren't required to have a lengthy safety warning literally etched into the metal by now. 🤷‍♂️

Who knew? Them damn guns need a warning that says "Do not store in or near excessive heat, fire or flame"...

🤦‍♂️

Posting facts and relevant links about Elon Musk and his Boring Company's "Not a Flamethrower".

Obligatory Fuck Spez

I'm not sure where 'vegan' came in at. The posted image is literally in the intro to every episode of Mr. Bean.

Jeeves, what are these funny noises in my phone line?

Spez (or one of their admin monkeys) perma-banned me from Reddit after like 7 years, for of all stupid things, posting actual facts about Elon Musk and his Boring Company's "Not A Flamethrower" contraption.

Wasn't any hate speech. Wasn't misinformation, I even posted reference links. Wasn't anything inappropriate or gory. Just straight up facts.

That was not all that long before Elon bought Xhitter.

Gotta love the irony huh? Fuck Spez and Musk.

It looks like it already did haha!

Oh well, at least it wasn't mine. 🤷‍♂️

I had already spent years doing occasional side work with around a dozen if not more folks originally from India. Most, except the oldest of the elders spoke good if not excellent English. But there's pretty much always gonna be at least a subtle accent, if not a heavy accent with secondary languages.

I thought I understood the fella clearly, but it was both a combination of his accent plus the strange sentence structure context that threw me totally off.

He said he was 'updating his tiles', but I misunderstood his vowels, so I heard 'updating his towels'

And why the hell would he use the word updating, he was literally having all the carpet removed in 44+ rooms and having tiles installed, not 'updated'.

So even the context clues didn't add up, I never guessed he was talking about the tile work he had been planning for months.

Yes, it worked perfectly! The repaired broken line was apparently power to the LED backlight.

I dunno, I needed a snack with my beer haha!

It's known that sneezing is a reflex to prevent dust or nose hairs or whatever from getting down into the lungs, but why do people and animals sometimes get hiccups? What function does that serve, and what causes them?

Also, bonus points for any random useful tips on how to make hiccups go away...

Get a medium to large metal coffee can, or any old metal can I guess. Make sure it's cleaned out and dry to start with, and is not rusty.

Then get some spray cooking oil and a few scraps of bread. Spray the inside of the can with cooking oil, then drop some bread scraps in there.

Now you have a roach trap, set it near where the roaches are generally at their worst, and they'll crawl out of the walls and into the can to get their munch on, but won't be able to crawl back out.

Check it every couple or few days or so, eventually the roaches will start piling up and most of them that have been in there for a bit will end up dying because they're covered in the cooking oil and apparently can't absorb oxygen.

Take the trap as necessary and either dump it in the toilet and flush them away, or if you have access to a bonfire burn pile, bag the little demons up and burn them. Then clean the can out and reset the trap as necessary.

Even with the worst infestations I've ever seen, this tends to eliminate over 99% of them within about two weeks, if not less.

A few thoughts about the different approaches between my trap vs poison...

If you poison them, then they just go back into your walls and die, further stinking the place up, is more dangerous to people and pets, and honestly isn't even nearly as effective as people would hope.

But roaches are simple and stupid. They're really easy to trap, and why the hell would I want them going back into the walls in the first place? Especially when I can just flush them instead?

Change my mind.

This is my approach to fixing peeling shoe sole layers. I cleaned and even Dremeled the inside layers of rubber to help glue adhere, but I was like "How the hell should I apply pressure while glue dries?"...

So I figured I should easily be able to do that with some thumb tacks in the sides of the sole, and temporarily stitch it down with dental floss for a day or two while the glue dries.

Wish me luck, I used silicone glue. Not sure if that's the best glue or not for the purpose, but it's tough and flexible. Of course I did both shoes, just figured it would be more obvious what I did with one shoe showing the initial damage.

Anyways, thumb tacks and dental floss for the win to hold it together while it dries!

Edit: Confirmed, my fix is solid, even holding better than the original factory glue! Haters gonna be haters though, carry on with your downvotes if you want. Just sharing my technique of salvaging shoes for less than $5 of glue and stuff around the house.

Don't leave your phone in the sun. Aside from the devastating heat, it'll also burn your camera out just like it will your eyes.
