No port forwarding really kills the utility though - I mainly use the VPN to do port forwarding (e.g. for video games, Plex, etc.) as my ISP is shit.

Like I'm not worried about state-level de-anonymisation, I just want to be able to share services remotely and have a minimum level of anonymity.

American culture warriors have decided that their ideology is more important - you see this a lot where their ideology's goal becomes the "greater cause" worth sacrificing the mission: e.g. in journalism.

Hamas is still holding innocent Israelis hostage and sexually assaulting them.

If Morocco sent gangs over the Spanish border to rape and murder (even babies) and took hundreds of hostages, no-one would ask Spain to negotiate a ceasefire while the hostages are still suffering.

Hamas must be destroyed. It's disgusting that the EU and UN have been funding them directly.

It's just hilarious that the US will bomb Nordstream and push Europe into crisis, whilst resisting any action that might raise their oil prices in the election year.

Just so one-sided it's incredible.

Don't people always carry passports anyway? A lot of airlines refuse ID card only travel so it's always too risky IMO.

He's winning against the gangs though - every Salvadorean I know supports him.

Yeah, and they would use them if they had foreign armies pushing into their territory.

But no efforts were made to really democratise and modernise Russia - they let oligarchs rise up from criminal gangs, etc., it'd have been better to have a more controlled process like Glasnost.

That isn't realistic, and Russia has nuclear weapons too.

The best bet is that the regime will be toppled in Russia with time, just like the USSR was.

It's better to lead by example with free institutions and free markets - the people of Russia will want freedom too.

Honestly it feels like the only reasonable outcome is a division like Korea, and focus on modernising and liberalising West Ukraine.

Protectionism makes us all poorer in the long run.

Free markets make free people.

[–] nivenkos@lemmy.world 0 points 6 months ago (2 children)

There's a lot of protectionism though.

Like this will drive higher inflation.

I can't vote anyway, because I never voted back in my passport home country. Despite holding EU citizenship and living in the EU.

It sucks that voting rights aren't just tied to paying taxes - the EU should really sort that out, so it functions more like a whole citizenship wherever you live, like the USA is.

I'll be travelling soon and was wondering what are good games for low power-usage and offline?

Previously I enjoyed:

  • Into The Breach
  • Baba Is You
  • Vampire Survivors
  • Super Mario All-Stars (SNES)

At the moment I'm planning to set up:

  • Lufia 2 (SNES)
  • Shadowrun (SNES + Genesis versions)
  • Golden Sun (GBA)
  • A Link To The Past (SNES)
  • Minish Cap (GBA)
  • A Link Between Worlds (NDS) - never played it, hopefully the controls map well!
  • Fire Emblem: Awakening (NDS) - same as above, never had a NDS
  • Oracle Of Ages (GBA)
  • Chrono Trigger (SNES)
  • Ogre Battle 64 (N64) - not sure how bad the power usage is on the N64 emulators

Maybe the Ace Attorney and Professor Layton series too which I haven't played. Also GTA1, London and 2 if they work. I love Advance Wars too but I've played it too many times already.

Basically anything that is easy to run, low power, and easy to play with just the controls and small screen in a cramped space. Ideally nothing too difficult / stressful like Hollow Knight that could be hard to play without good screen brightness or cramped.

I like a lot of older PC games but unfortunately they're difficult to play without a mouse and on the small screen - e.g. Ultima VII and Arx Fatalis.
