Obvious rage bait.

Constitution doesn’t prevent inevitable fascism, it can delay it or makes it harder to operate (like cost for media propaganda is still a cost).
That was the point. But it won't delay it for much longer.
Exactly. We need better counter intelligence. If you can't save tourists in the most millitarised zone in the world, are you really 'tough on terrorism'?
Yeah. Only 2 or 3 were in any way associated with the security forces, and none of them were involved in Kashmir. One was a naval officer posted in Kochi, which is on the other side of the country.
Sorry to hear what happened to your neighbour.
'Audacious' is a strange way to put it. Killing unarmed civilians is not exactly 'audacious'.
And what was the point of making Kashmir the most militarised zone in the world if they couldn't even prevent a terrorist attack in a touristy area? Incompetent fucks.
Edit: interesting moderation history you've got there, OP.
It's nothing new. I would have linked to the archive photos of Abu Ghraib prison photos, but I'm not sure it's allowed, since they're NSFW. The fact that Bukele declared that no one can escape pretty much confirms that it's an actual death camp. There are metal bunks just like the ones in Auschwitz. The prisoners are kept inside for 23.5 hours, with half an hour of exercise in the lobby. The cells claim to have 1 sq. m. for each prisoner, with 80-100 prisoners, and there is no sunlight, only 24/7 artificial light. The prisoners don't speak(allegedly), and have no clocks or reading material. Some have lost their voice from not speaking. It's impossible to keep so many people in one place; some detainees must have died eventually to make space for the newcomers. Food is scant, and violence is common.
Funnily enough, I've seen a couple of articles refer to them as 'gulags'. They aren't fucking gulags. Spreading their propaganda even when they see something this horrifying. It would be funny if it wasn't nauseating.
The Indian government is already doing all the things you listed, mate. They have weakened RTI. found loopholes in the law, weakened the transparency of the Election Commission in various subtle ways, even fixed the Chandigarh mayoral election and won with lots of fake voters with suspiciously thin margins in some places, abused every agency there is from state police to CBI, ED and IT departments for arresting people. They even planted fake evidence to arrest a college professor. They've used everything from UAPA, the sedition law to POTA. A constitution only puts off what is inevitable. The writing is on the wall.
I think you should read my comment again. The Weimar Constitution too was well written but that didn't stop fascism. A piece of paper can only do so much. The opposition couldn't do shit about the Waqf act from passing, could it? It too violates fundamental rights by forbidding non-Muslims and recent converts from donating land. Constitution can't do shit. Only puts off what is inevitable.
Of course they did. But medical advancements have reduced infant mortality and increased life expectancy.
I think you misunderstood my point. Even with all material comforts and financial stability, what makes the original commenter think women will voluntarily choose to have children? The huge surge in population was not only because of government subsidies, but brutal repression and lack of any real choice women had. It is not natural -- it was artificially created by a system of violent repression of women.
Baldwin: Can you explain what you see as the misuse of the holocaust and WWII by the Russian government and nationalists?
... Havryshko: The memory of World War II is weaponized by different political actors for political and military purposes. For example, when Putin began his angry speech on the night of February 24, 2022, he emphasized that one of the goals of the so-called “special military operation” was the “denazification” of Ukraine.
Top Russian propagandists frequently refer to the Ukrainian government as a “Nazi regime” and call Ukrainian soldiers “Nazis.”
From the article. The author is a western academic, a historian of Holocaust studies. Read.
She said that the Nazis didn't burn any books on trans people or persecute trans people. Weird hill to die on. Her tweets are blocked in Germany for holocaust denial.
Except your point doesn't contradict mine at all. The post-war economy offered a lot of job opportunities as well as social safety nets, unlike the 19th century. This was a factor, but it wasn't the only factor. Because it was also a period with bad contraception. Soon after contraception became more reliable, fertility rates declined. If financial stability was the only factor, why did fertility rates decline as soon as women had the choice? The population boom was also stronger among Catholics. What explains that other than a misogynistic culture?
The fertility rates in Germany persist in being low despite the country having a decent safety net. Might be because women never really liked having children. Perhaps, just perhaps, having rampant marital rape has something to do with the baby boom?
