Earlier in the story arc they got to their campsite by canoe. In the 80s it's totally reasonable that they didn't know when the rain was going to break.

They do/did here in Virginia. They're "skill games" or something. Some law changed it something because they've been turned off with a sign taped to the screen for a while now.

I went through the same path. Gmail came to mind first, then eBay, then a MUD I haven't actually played in ages but double check that my account is there now and then.

Searching Lunar Laundry on google maps shows me a spot in Seattle. I'd guess that either KG moved between this post and the screenshot, or hasn't updated their Yelp profile since moving to Seattle.

It's not even consistent within the US. I've known people who, if they said that sentence over the phone it would sound a lot like "E as in A"
