Would the victim be officially dead?

Who do these pants -wetting idiots think they're scaring?

The boomers who grew up during the Cold War and who continue to have better voter turnout rates than Millennials, even as the latter generation sneaks up on their 40s.

Like...I don't agree with their policies, but their tactics are objectively effective.

This isn't an endorsement of conservative fear mongering but rather calling out my fellow Millennials, who've recently surpassed boomers as the most populous generation in the US.

Show up and vote, god dammit.

After working retail for the holiday season as a younger person, and seeing how that started in October...then working in the beer industry, watching seasonal creep pushing those beer releases ever earlier (combined with the ramp up and logistics meaning that we were in full on "get ready for Oktoberfest" mode by mid-April...

I think I was just totally burnt out of any capacity for seasonal creep outrage a decade ago.

I saw a Christmas display while grocery shopping this week. Didn't even register as odd, let alone annoying. Which is saying something, coming from me, who tends to treat getting annoyed about random shit as a sort of relaxing pastime.

The game isn't canon.

Which...okay whatever, weird comment...but that's what they meant.

Which is why there should be legal mechanisms to place legal responsibility for decisions like this personally on those in leadership positions when they're being made, even if those people no longer hold those positions.

You bet your ass the chucklefucks who came up with this little stunt would've thought twice about it if they knew that there was a decent chance they'd go to prison for it.

Also gotta make this shit sting the shareholders too: make the company pay the victims not only the estimated value of their data but also a portion of all profits made while a policy like this is in effect. Since there's no easy way to tell how much money was made off their data, unless the company has the numbers, let's say half.

Suddenly the quarterly report's got a nice repayment shaped dent in its side and all the sudden the shareholders care about following the law and respecting the rights of customers.

And very literally after it was too late to safely leave.

Which means, by definition, they were not dismissed while they could safely leave.

The bounty is posted by Iran... wouldn't it be better for everyone if we dropped him off at Tehran?

[–] hydrospanner@lemmy.world 3 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Just because you don't like it doesn't mean literally anything, no offense to you.

I get where you're coming from, but that's some really shitty delivery.

Bigger picture, if one isn't to form their own opinions based on world view, what are they to form opinions based on?

Ultimately, all your comment says is, "I don't care about your opinions and don't value them at all. Instead of anything you think or have to say, here's what I think and what I have to say."

Chocolate with raisins is super common though...

A properly run nuclear plant will also expose people living within a 50 mile radius of the plant to less radiation than if it were a coal fired plant.

The whole thing is pretty regulated.

I feel like that's probably a good thing.

Not that we need to open this can of worms here, but it's a pet peeve of mine that "vanilla" has become a term used to mean plain, boring, sheltered, standard, mediocre, underwhelming, basic, and uninteresting.

Vanilla is an amazing flavor that comes from orchids that must be hand pollinated to cultivate at scale, and has a long and interesting history. It's the second most valuable spice after saffron.

Just feels wrong to use that as a synonym for bland and blah.

Just stumbled across this in my travels.

Obviously this isn't "confirmed" as in "it's definitely coming out and here's a release date", but rather, simply confirmation that time and effort are being spent on it.

We also got confirmation that expansions are planned for the next two years, so even at the earliest, GW3 would likely be a 2027 thing, possibly with the second expansion in the current pipeline serving as a sort of link/segue.

Shifting gears for a moment, though...while there's a lot of room to steer the current story over 2 more expansions, I'm not sure there's much room left in the current lore for much of any real significant game. Maybe GW3 sees a prequel game? Maybe we actually participate in...you know...the Guild Wars?

Went 4lb 1oz on the scale, for a best fish of 2024 to this point, and likely one of my top 5 overall for the year!

She ate a black and blue jig (I think it was a Dirty Jigs compact pitching in Pay Day) with a Reaction Innovations Kinky Beaver in Blank Check color...in about 2 feet of water, up on shore under a bush.

It was also the first fish on my new rod! (A NRX+ 894C JWR...not the Mojo in the background lol).

I've been getting out when I can for the past several weeks...on my very first trip of the year I missed a nice one under a dock that just threw the hook. After that I fished for many many hours without a bite.

We had a local warming trend here the past few days and finally I managed to break the ice.

Went 2lb 2oz on the scale and is a very respectable fish from the small and heavily pressured lake I caught it on. Took a Vision 110 Jr. in Elegy Bone.

So...what didja get?

When the local discount store has their already cheap LC stock marked 25% off, you load up.

Basically the title.

I'm running some nice Japanese braid but I feel like it's a bit small/thin/light for the application.

Just looking to find out what others use!

2lb 5oz on the scale, ate a Megabass SV-3 spinnerbait in Wakasagi colorway, pulled along the edges of weed mats.
