Did you er…read the article or nah?

[–] harrybo93@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago

Yeah I feel you on this one- very similar situation myself! Forget energy, you’ll never have it. Just find the time, and aim racing will give you the buzz you’ve been looking for.

Logitech have not long announced they’ve made a racing chair- I know there’s probably some you can get a lot cheaper but it looks neat! I’m in desperate need of upgrading to one of these- I currently use a desk which is not remotely suited to the job. Too high, can’t match my chair to the right angle/height, wobbles with the force of turning the wheel which in turn also wobbles my monitor etc…please tell me I’m not the only one with this setup? 😆

Hey everyone! I did a short stream where I drove Group B RWD for The Gamer’s Tavern Rally Championship in EA WRC. I drove the Lancia 037 and spent most of the time on full lock in some blizzard conditions and also mostly airborne 😂 I brought back the face camera so you can see how much I look like a dork while trying to fight with the car… haha. I wasn’t fast enough to catch EighthLayer this time…

We talk about driving assists in rally games using controller, we talk about weight distribution and brake bias, and we drive the hell out of this thing!

Feel free to comment and join in, I love talking cars, driving styles and all things sim racing with people!

Yeah it had a pretty rough ride at the start but when it worked, it was really nice tbh.

Damn shame, tbh. Out of all of them I really like the visuals and vibe of Firefish.

Questions are growing? Haven’t they been out already for fucking years??

Don’t worry everyone, it was fine. Someone just drove into

Modder @SpadeTheSkele has successfully made the 1999 PC port of Sega Rally 2 compatible with modern computers, enhancing its performance compared to the lower framerate of the Dreamcast version.

Hardly surprised to be honest, I hear there’s good versions of toasters to drive too

[–] harrybo93@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

I mean the trend these days is massive preorder price then back down to a normal price after a month or so, right? :/

[–] harrybo93@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

I know right?! It especially runs really well on steam deck, too

Anyone interested in this? I know it isn’t sim racing but you gotta admit, sometimes it’s ridiculously free after spending hours of meticulously trying not to crash a car to just go “ah fuck it! HNNNNRRRG” steer into opponents

🤤

“As for features, we have BIG NEWS! This release will fully implement the New Damage Model on ALL VEHICLES in the entire service! That’s right, every single car will now benefit from the improved physics and visual experience brought by using the New Damage Model. A few vehicles have received special attention with this release, including the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992) and the NASCAR Trucks Series Trucks. The Porsche has been updated to the latest available technical specifications, while the NASCAR Trucks Series Trucks have received significant updates and improvements based on research performed in partnership with NASCAR, as well as extensive computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis.”

Yeah to be fair I’ve seen loads of examples where sim racers have multiple wheels that they use on display on a shelf and they just swap them out

[–] harrybo93@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

I’m sure that could probably be bound to a Push To Talk button or something for extra immersion!

Now I love me some Sim Racing. I know it’s an expensive habit that ultimately is cheaper than real life racing. But…c’mon…? Surely not?

EA WRC - TGT Championship - Rally Oceania

The next event in The Gamer's Tavern EA WRC Championship in Oceania with the McRae R4!

My entry could have been so much better if it wasn't for an incident in Stage 3! 🌉🚫

Absolute monster of a car. Twin turbo V8. The sound of it was and still is incredible. Only tried it out a few times on Project Cars 2 and regularly crashed 😂

Check out some on board footage here: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=OQVWvNIzVSc&t=147s&pp=ygUkUm9iIHNoZXJyYXJkIG1lcmNlZGVzIHNhdWJlciBvbmJvYXJk

For me, nothing comes close to the MG Metro 6R4 in EA WRC. There’s just something about how it just clicks with my driving style, along with that amazing sounding naturally aspirated V6. I can’t describe it, there’s just a mutual agreement between me and the car where it just works 🤣

Anyone else have a similar thing in other games or even EA WRC?
