#1 is Guyana, for anyone curious
I think more regional / city instances would be great. Seems like a natural way to consolidate activity around local content, meetups, activism, etc etc while also staying totally connected to everything else
Long train trips and subway rides are pretty ideal. Mainly since they get rid of that nagging sense of whatever other things I "could be doing" in those moments (going to the gym, practicing an instrument etc)
The Pinetime's a solid FOSS watch, actually. Assuming you're ok with pretty basic use cases (for now), it's easily worth the $30ish to get one
The vast majority of federal cases end with a plea deal. Any idea if that could include forfeiting any right to run for public office? Would be great for peace of mind if so
Boox in particular is known for brazenly violating the GPL, repeatedly. Their hardware looks decent, but there's no way I'm supporting that.
Using a second-gen kindle Oasis, which is great hardware (aside from using the wrong charging port). DRM ebooks from Amazon are definitely not great though, so I keep it in airplane mode at all times and load it up via calibre.
Lemmy fixes the fundamental problem with Reddit, so I don't see the point in regressing back to that.
I'm hoping that regional instances take off. Feels like a really natural fit for federated servers- trying to join https://lemmy.nyc as we speak (and get it connected to the major instances, from there)
Can't imagine applying to work for an ad company in the first place.
Sorry, I'm not seeing the previous one (even after refreshing, changing sort order, etc). Maybe something weird going on with my instance
