I will admit I dumped Firefox on my android phone and went back to Chrome because, good grief, it was taking nearly twice as long ...

I'm not doubting you, but I am surprised. My android is 10 years old now. I switched to FF on it recently and haven't noticed a difference other than the URL bar is on the bottom now ๐Ÿ™ƒ

Right so because he likes to work in an office and feels more productive when surrounded by coworkers, he makes the mistake of thinking that everyone is like that. Or that the most effective workers are extroverts

God I remember how the flu used to just rip through the office come wintertime... Since switching to remote work, I think I've taken 1 sick day this year.

I wish people would stop saying "but" and maybe just like call it in? Stage a protest? Demand that he be brought up for charges?

Like if it's a crime and he doesn't have a defense, uhh... like what's the holdup? The "Teflon Don" from your history books was eventually convicted, even after it seemed his ability to escape consequences was limitless.

Hey I'm pretty extreme and anti-genocide, but I think we all hope she just wins so we can start giving her a hard time about Israel and her conservative stances, without worrying about the much worse option getting elected.

But I'm not even American. So the domestic aspect doesn't impact me and much, beyond of course wanting the best for you guys

I have a bunch of chopped veggies and bagged lettuce in the refrigerator and do much the same. Today is tempeh, and tomorrow is the beans that are already soaking.

It's so easy to plan meals if you know in advance what protein you're having

Thanks, I have heard good things but this personal recommendation moves it to the top of my list. I'll check it out.

Bloody brilliant

Hey sobernauts out there on the clear dry seas lol. The pink cloud is gone, so now I'm just in the daily living part (7mos), but even still, had a bit of a realisation recently.

I got unexpectedly laid off from my job recently, which previously would have been a big trigger to hit the bar. But this time I was thankful that I didn't drink anymore (or smoke for that matter). Not even for the money (although that is one factor), but that despite all my problems at least I don't have to deal with the ravages of booze on top of everything else. I can move forward with real world solutions to my actual problem with a clear head.

It especially hit me when shortly after my layoff, a friend came over with a "care package" of junk food and a light beer, saying to my partner "c'mon not even one beer." But I realised that I wasn't even tempted (though the inertia from old habits could have easily led me to drink).

Anyway, this friend doesn't know how much I value my sobriety (we used to drink together a lot a lot), so I thanked him for the thought, but gave the beer to another friend of mine.

That's the story. My physical addiction to alcohol isn't that great thankfully, so it's not that dramatic, but it still felt like a nice reinforcement that I'm on the right path.

Most of us will never be afforded the grace of failing forward,โ€ she said. โ€œWe will never benefit from the affirmative action of generational wealth

You know, I don't hate it... I would probably eat a lot more salad too if it was just right there

Yeah I've had to reinstall the ol' app timer on my phone to keep the lemmy usage reasonable.
