Basically you want a handheld tally counter?

You'd need one for every player and I don't see any multi-counter units immediately hopping out at me. But they exist.

Aside from hard science and engineering degrees where the technical knowledge is a foundation for what you'll learn in industry, a college degree is simply a piece of paper that says "I received a balanced education and have my life together enough to focus, manage time, and complete tasks reliably for 4 years straight." Rarely do you ever use most of the knowledge you gained in college besides the aforementioned life management skills.

So they finally realized the person that convinced them to block the piracy subs was an idiot transphobic troll who was unhealthily obsessed with defending bungie, a faceless game corporation that needs no defense?

Shocker.

As many public trackers as you can (I usually just start with 1337x. TPB is garbage and shouldn't be used anymore)

Usually once it's out on 2 or 3 public trackers for a couple days all the big DHT scrapers pick it up and then she's free on the wind.

Yes, PLA creeps ridiculously fast in hot conditions it is unsuitable for use in any environment over 35C tbh.

PETG is better but will still warp/fade over time if it's exposed to the sun, and likely need replacing.

You need to be printing in ABS or ideally ASA if you want all-weather resistant cases. Which means now your printer needs an enclosure and ventilation...

Nah. IA doesn't need to deal with this volume of shit and they already have enough of a hard time dealing with copyright trolls.

If this channel is impacted in the future, I'll probably put out a few torrents with the videos and post them here.

And mind you, they have a high number of videos but most are short clips and all of them are low res, 360p or 480p max. Any other channel uploading HD or 4k content will be orders of magnitudes larger for fewer videos.

They still happily exist on YouTube- for now. So no point in re-hosting, they'll get squirreled away into the Giant Hard Drive of Doom.

If something happens to the actual archive project in the near future, I'll likely section them up into 20gb pieces and post them out on a torrent someplace.

a TorrentFreak article got me spooked so I fired up the ol' yt-dlp. Got the entire channel, including comments, description metadata, and thumbnail images.

A significant number of videos were actually unavailable because of an odd YouTube bug where 15+ year old videos were listed as "currently being processed". I may re-run this later (since I ran it in archive file mode) to get the missing videos, as it seems there may be about 300 out of 4911 videos missing.

I can still see it having a place. Watching a movie you've wanted to see for a while in a place where you can't be interrupted by social media notifications, traffic noise, neighbors, deliveries, etc. Can be very nice. And if you have small kids sometimes a good movie is the only way to get them to slow down and be calm and focused for a couple hours. But its not really something I'd consider "camping" for me.

Outside of the hard sciences where youre there to learn necessary specific foundational knowledge and technical stuff - mech/elec/civil engineering, high level medical, etc - it really doesn't. The degree is proof that you can put your head down and manage yourself well enough to survive in the white collar world.

I don't care if it means I have to give up gpu accelerated distributed computing for the next 6 years because no projects will support it. I am NOT feeding Jensen and his leather jackets another fucking cent.

Screenshot included so you do not have to browse to it. Literally. I'm not even joking. The entire subreddit is 2 days old (founded immediately after the AMA) and populated+moderated exclusively by accounts less than 6 months old following standard generic name schemes and posting comments that reek of chatGPT generated responses.

This is the most hilarious, saddest, most obviously transparent attempt at propaganda astroturfing I have ever seen.

Spez. Get a bloody life, my dude.

This has been the year(s?) of absolutely craptastic releases. I've been incredibly busy in college for quite a while, only half-assedly following most of them, but following them close enough to see just about everyone gripe about the terrible state of polish things are being released in for both consoles and PC.

But y'know what? Screw all that. Screw shooters and AAA "masterpieces" and microtransactions and all that fast-paced hoopla.

I'm just gonna go back to playing Minecraft all summer, like it's 2014 again. Probably mostly a vanilla server with a few close friends and my long-distance GF. Maybe mix in a little modded tech packs for some excitement that isn't quite as hardcore as Factorio is. Maybe get on some public servers and play some minigames while getting drunk.

Minecraft, or at least the java edition, has largely escaped the massive commercialization push of the gaming industry. And being in a game where there's no stress, no 'grind', no dopamine button pushers.... just a game where you're living life how you want it, when you want it, is something I desperately, desperately need right now.

Who's with me?

Sending this from work where I was looking at a coworker while talking and walked full-speed into the edge of a table

My leg hurt and it's got a hella bruise going now
