The enshitification way would be to make games hard to find. And then charge game companies for their game to be better discoverable or promoted.

That would have been on voters to stop them for being undemocratic. But nope. Just voting along party lines all the way to hell.
Only way I managed it to make sense is:

Completely with you. But then it is not helpful, to also pressure each other online to complete stupid external stuff, when someone is clearly managing to just really enjoy the actual game.
Achievements are external badges without any value or meaning. If it wants you to do something you're not having fun doing, why do it?
