Just rewrite it with 80% functionality and force migrations on the users. Once the remaining 20% "edge cases" that require serious effort hop to the next job - where you where hired to "maintain" such a system and "just add a small feature here and there". Ooops.
all other employers demand modern technologies
There are a lot of employers that'll throw good money at you for maintaining and extending their outdated crap. Have you ever considered learning COBOL?

I started with this and switched to a gitlab project using issues and wiki. It's better than bare .md files in my editor but not really a solution I'd advise others to use. Maybe I should have a look at Logseq...

they greatly underestimate the interface work as well.
And, oh boy, the word operations is not even mentioned. Bringing your prototype to the customer is one thing, but actually operating it can be as challenging as developing it.
Of course you can outsource a great deal of that to AWS/Azure/gcloud nowadays but either way you'll have to throw a significant amount of money (and manpower) at a problem the non-techs probably classified as trivial.
I wouldn't want to be the only techie, being on call 24/7 for the next 3-6 month until that project finally runs out of money. As interest rates are high now, loans aren't an option. Getting eaten by a bigger fish is also unlikely, so you better generate a proper income for everyone involved asap. You can bet on such a thing to work out if you're still young and have a safety net (i.e. parents). Unless you're running an operation, you invest either money or time, never both.
Yeah, there is a wide spread in distribution. Some blood cells, skin epithelium and some gastric cells only live for a few days.
As most of the human cells die and get replaced within a few years, humans are already beings of Theseus.
You deliberately left out the third panel. Thank you for that.
Nah, Tucker worked on the Moonlander Project (which got the Starfleet recruitment officer to believe that he has actual experience in aerospace engineering and landed him his current job).
