Kids don't theoretically need a SSN and they can apply for their own at 18. But it makes things unnecessarily hard.

No of course not why would the most powerful man on earth and former VP to the president who made that progress with Cuba have any responsibility to change anything.

He had the power and has not done it. It IS as bad as Trump's actions to uphold them.

I was more pointing out how Biden has done little or nothing to REVERSE Trump's regressions despite having the power to.

The US has an embargo, but Mexico and Canada don't.

Technically, but the US has sanctioned companies in other countries who do business in Cuba scaring off a ton of possible choices. The companies have to choose between the richest company on earth and Cuba. Not much of a choice.

Plus IIRC boats that go to Cuba can't go to the US after for some period of time. Which considering location makes it hugely inconvenient for shipping companies.

Plus since the US and US based companies control a huge portion of the world's financial systems Cuba is locked out of all of them

Then Biden got into office and uh,

Nah that's not unusual. Brain trauma or degradation can and often does leave someone with a beating heart but little to no hope of ever being conscious again - hence the term brain death.

The ones that didn't fled the government under penalty of persecution. Honestly brave and an example to aspire to.

We've reached an impasse in which you seem to be solely interested in arguing about semantics regarding hypotheticals with no basis in reality whatsoever. This conversation is going nowhere and has no point.

But it doesn't. If they started a genocide against Israel, they'd no longer be the oppressed but the oppressors. And therefore they'd have no "resistance" to justify such a thing.

In any case Palestine doing a 180⁰ and becoming the genociders is a ridiculous line of thought with no purpose.

[–] bdonvr@thelemmy.club 7 points 1 week ago (5 children)

That's absolutely absurd. If Palestine was capable of inflicting genocide upon its oppressors, they'd not be in this situation to begin with. Can we talk about reality here?
