They just put out another song and video for it: Bite you

This one's a bit heavier and more aggressive, but also still kind of fun. Really a band to keep an eye on!

That's really a fun and catchy song!

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that the music video features SHELTER, the Shimokitazawa live house which gained fame as the IRL inspiration for Bocchi the Rock's STARRY.

The great thing about productive bands with a long and varied discography like BAND-MAID is that you can continuously discover new "favourite" songs. And recently for me it's "secret My lips" from their 2017 album "Just Bring It". (The first one where the band members themselves wrote almost all songs.)

It's sometimes said that in BAND-MAID songs, the bass and even the drums have their own melody lines, unlike most other bands where they're mostly just "there" as support for the main melody. In this song, I think it's especially pronounced with the drum part from the 2:00 minute mark - I just love it.

The awesomeness continues into final stretch of the song, which also features great twin vocals of Miku and Saiki.

The English post title is the apparently band's own (quite liberal) translation, the original would be "Maru de dame na joshikousei wa BANDOMAN ni natta", so something along the lines of "A totally useless high school girl became a band member". Kind of autobiographic maybe? lol

Anyway it's a fun song and they rock out.

Another rocking song by the fabulous ladies, on occasion of today's announcement of SCANDAL's new album "LUMINOUS" which will also include this track.

I didn't know that one yet. It's also great, thank you!

This all-girl rock band is still pretty new, but they have a few really good songs, including this new one which goes quite hard.

Favorite band, new song, 'nuff said.

Bonus: music video without heartbreak this time!

This is my favorite Scandal song to this day. I love them most when they just rock out!

That band really seemed to have come out of nowhere with this song, at least according to their YouTube channel... It is a really catchy song though! Their subsequent releases didn't become quite as successful, but they're worth keeping an eye on!

Just listened to it, that's a really nice track! 👌

Btw if you could also add/edit the artist and song title in romaji in the post, that would be perfect. Sorry to bother you again, I should have written this in my first comment.

Hey, I think your post somehow only has the picture but no link. Could you add/edit that?

Notruf funktioniert auch bei gesperrtem Telefon. Aber das sollte man dem Kind auch erklären.

Wake Up, Girls! was an idol unit active from 2014 to 2019 whose leader was none other than Yoshino Aoyama, voice of Hitori "Bocchi" Gotou in Bocchi the Rock. In this performance of the opening theme from Restaurant to Another World, originally a collaboration with Mayn, she's the one singing the very first line, with the light blue ribbon.

Far from the absolute nobody before Bocchi the Rock she's sometimes painted as (also by her own presentation), she had before already led this unit throughout the years, culminating in this final concert in a brimful Saitama Super Arena in front of about 35,000 people (full concert playlist) that wowed her senpais Rie Takahashi and Reina Ueda.

During the unit's active years, she also voiced the character based on herself in various accompanying anime productions.

After the unit disbanded after this concert, the only other member that continued to be significantly active in the idol and/or anime space AFAIK is Minami Tanaka, who e.g. went on to become part of Franchouchou in Zombieland Saga.

Continuing the theme of seiyuu from Bocchi the Rock and also my first forays into idol groups: Wake Up, Girls! was an idol unit active from 2014 to 2019 whose leader was none other than Yoshino Aoyama, voice of Hitori "Bocchi" Gotou. A wonderful interpretation by one of my favorite seiyuu (voiced Kita from Bocchi the Rock and sung most of the songs from the show, among others) of the beautiful love song by Aimer.

Another iconic song borne from the Monogatari anime series. This was used as the first ending theme.

The anime adaptation of the Monogatari series has produced many songs that even people like me who never watched it know, like the iconic Renai Circulation. This one however, used as the first opening theme, stuck with me as the one I found most beautiful, with its kind of melancholic mood.

Sorry for replying so late, I first wanted to get a better impression of their evolution for myself. I think as a general rule, I like their more recent stuff more? Image, Take Me Out, A.M.D.K.J. - the more rock styled songs. I also really like Mirror, as a recent slower song. But among their earlier stuff, Shunkan Sentimental is also great. I also kind of like Scandal Baby, while Shoujo S does nothing for me... it's pretty random. Though I have to say that the blatant pushing of their schoolgirl image in their earlier videos and concerts is a bit off-putting to me. I mean they were basically schoolgirls back then, but still... I prefer the later stuff where they show their individuality.

Absolutely timeless and a banger! I think this was the first song I actively sought out and listened to as an "anime" song, and I couldn't get enough of it for a long time.

About this performance I'll say, the background dancers' choreography is certainly... interesting lol

Grave of the Fireflies is too sad to cry to. It's just pure despair, slowly killing you emotionally.

Recently I commented here that I might finally be getting into idol stuff in my old years, and it seems to be really happening via the gateway of idol anime...
This song is from the second season of Zombieland Saga and I chose it because it's actually pretty great as a rock song (though not "death metal" as billed in that video).

The anime seiyuu actually formed an idol unit and did several big concerts with all the songs from the show. And most of the songs are really pretty great.

This weekend is still going to be very busy, then it's getting better. :)

I haven't even fully watched the last concert BluRay I ordered (Band-Maid), so I've been putting off my next purchase. :D
