Damn thats a lot lol

Interestingly though, it says germany only has 7, but this article says they are sending 6 so I'm assuming the Wikipedia is outdated.

Technically the deflectors were only there in case the interruptors didn't work right for some reason I believe. Still kinda funny tho

From my limited experience using it on a shitty Chromebook for school (granted also pretty locked down) and it's not great. Pretty much only useful for doing web things and the Google ecosystem. I also have no idea whether it's even possible to get it on anything else.

From a UI perspective I didn't really like it l, especially as it and other chrome apps got more and more sleek and curvy. I did grow up using a Linux mint laptop though, only getting a dual booted Linux/Windows PC in highschool for some games that needed it as well as running SOLIDWORKS at home. (thanks to my dad for all that lol)

Doing some quick searching, it seems that we currently do not know how the plane crashed. It was in the air on a mission to shoot down cruise missiles, and after doing that on the way to another target they lost connection. It will likely be a while before we know, both because it will take time to investigate but also depending on what the cause was they may not want to release it publicly for a while.

Slightly more informative article I found: https://www.nytimes.com/2024/08/31/world/europe/ukraine-f16-pilot-crash.html

Yea from the article it's pretty much just that it's hard to go through the process of getting approved to get the loan and proving that it's worthwhile to the government.

"One hang-up has been a requirement that companies get funding from private investors before the loans can go out. The program’s rigorous due-diligence process, higher interest rates and slowing growth in electric-car sales have made it harder to get deals done."

As a other premium user, trust me that is not the main reason I use it, it's entirely to get rid of ads on mobile. I use the feature occasionally on mobile too but on desktop I use sponsorblock and it's wayyy better both from an accuracy and user interface standpoint.

Sidenote: I also am on a plan that my parents pay for, though I used to pay for it myself after getting it for free for 6 months and I couldn't go back to the ads

Maybe ecchi wouldnt be the name of it, perhaps lewd or something. I think the idea is to have a lower level of still being somewhat sexual, but not necessarily full on nudity/sex or violence. Pretty sure they just said ecchi because of the relatively well understood distinction between hentai and ecchi in that ~~team~~realm of things.

I'd agree, but that slope will be a long and hard one. And the hype cycle may have many more peaks and troughs of disillusionment, from new breakthroughs, but the researchers will still make steady progress.

I think they mostly mean dead as in not many people playing them consistently, but that's of course due to the fact that they are quite old and don't have a ton of replayability. (In regards to portal and half-life.)

Though I'd also argue that they are far from dead in spirit, as they are still very well regarded and thought of, and still talked about quite a bit. And there is of course always new people discovering or playing them since they are such classics.

Minecraft is still of course alive and well, for me personally it is my single most played game, and I still play it from time to time, albeit primary modded.

Gotta say, it was quite a good video. I think I watched either most of all of it over the course of a few days to a week a while ago.

Not who you were replying to, but very good explanation and interesting read!

As some may have noticed, a fairly large portion of the post on this community are article links posted by bots. I am no moderator and am just a regular user like the rest of you, but I want to know what the community thinks of the posting bots. here is a sample of my opinion to get conversation started:

Pros:

  • lots of content to engage with
  • people can focus on discussing things not finding thing

Cons:

  • lack of reliable quality of article
  • lack of diversity of content

I heard some stuff a while ago about there eventually being a non-ios theme for voyager, wefwef at the time. Is there an estimated timeline or plan on when that will be available, or perhaps some way for us users to help out with that?

I love almost every about voyager besides the theme. I know Apollo was intended to be ios but I see no reason voyager has to be the same
