In the US? Yes

The “revolutionary” air-breathing engine could, in theory, lift an aircraft from a runway to more than 30km (18.6 miles) into the stratosphere and continuously accelerate it to 16 times the speed of sound.

At this velocity, even the longest intercontinental flights could take just one or two hours while consuming less fuel compared with conventional jet engines.

Yes and no, 5% of the script, corresponding to its unique UI is proprietary, but 100% auditable and even moddeable by the user (in the Forum they show you even how to do it, at own risk, logical). And its better so this way, making it OpenSource too, Chrome and Edge are the first in forking it, which will be the end of Vivaldi and any other Chromium. Anyway, with more than 100 browsers curretntly in the market, OpenSource or not isn't the most important poiny, more important the ethics and transparency respect the user of the company. Respect privacy it is irrelevant, it depends only of the manufactor of the product, not if it OpenSource or not, all spying APIs of Google, Facebook, MS & cia are all OpenSource and included in a lot of the FOSS in the market (also in Firefox, eg the "save" browsing API is from Google, not really needed if you use an adblocker (uBO), which contains a similar function, this API send your browsing data to Google who host the list of phising sites but also logs your activity, If you can, desactivate it, in Vivaldi you can do it in the privacy settings)

I use Vivaldi, I don't know a better Chromium for privacy nor because other features (made in the EU by a employee-owned cooperative, no extern investors, gutted Chromium base (no phones to Google), no tracking, no logging, inbuild ad- and trackerblocker with customizables filterlists, encrypted sync, feed reader, mail client, calendar, reader list, reader view, splitscreen, full customizable UI, command chains, etc......). Apart with your account an own blogging platform, mail service, included an Mastodon account in the Vivaldis own instance, which you can use with your account. https://vivaldi.com

No ads here with adblocker + this. Anyway now I watch YT well with LightTube, or well on Desktop with MotionBox Video Browser or SMplayer. Faster, better quality and without any ad. FYT

Well, it's still poorly used, but this can change in the future with logical improvements. Decentralized products are always poor if there are only few which use it, above with shabby servers. But a decentralized network is at the end the only way to escape the control of these surveillance companies. Tor in the Onion network isn't really free of this and controled with backdoors by the NSA and others (the Onion was developed by US Defense and Secrete services), entering only with TOR, without also using VPN with several server redirects (startet before starting TOR, to get the tunnel beginning from the VPN server and not from the one of your ISP. Because of this a VPN extension in the browser isn't a so good idea, only can start after the browser connect to your ISP server), expose you. very fast, not only by the gov services, also by the fauna maligna there. The TOR browser isn' specially secure, it is only a browser capable to access the TOR network. In the normal open network isn't more private as FF or any other browser, only slower and less compatible with the current web standarts, it is for what it is.

I think that, at least for users out of the EU, the only alternative will be to change to the i2p network or to use more extensions and scripts than bookmarks in the browser to avoid this surveillance crap of these data hogs "to make America great again" I only hope that in the future the EU becomes a little more alert in offering enough software and services to be on level eyes of those in the USA. There are very good products in the EU, but most of them little known and marginal, the few that have made a name for themselves are KDE, Proton, Tuta and Vivaldi, little else..

Games which needs a NASA computer and a half Google server to play it with more than 15 FPS are not necesarly better as some 15 years old games for Win XP, they only have somewhat better graphics.

Remembering old Games, like Black Messiah or Tomb Rider from 2013, which work at >30-50 FPS with a few Gigs HD and less than 4 Gigs RAM, apart of having very good graphics.

New games often also are badly optimized, needing way more min sys specs as needed for the quality they offer.

Someone remember the game kkrieger? A short 3D FPS in a single file with only 96 KB, that is art. It can still be downloaded (abandonware, Windows)

Well, there are some lightweight browsers out there, depending of your OS, sys specs and what you want to do. You can try f.exampl. the Otter Browser, or also the Midory Browser, which has some perfomance tweeks in it's settings and you can use Firefox extensions. Both are 100% FOSS and Private. Maybe also the French UR Browser can be an option. Here you can find more lightweight browsers

This in a British Museum would also be a good topic for a script

I hate this, above Steam client is slow as hell (GOG isn't much better). But you can hack it in most games to start the game clicking in the Icon. Look at the properties of the games in the folder, there is usually a game launcher, it is this one whose icon appears when this game is installed, it is this one that launches Steam (or GOG), but apart from that there is usually the original executable (look also in the subfolders, mostly in bin) which directly launches the game without Steam or GOG.
