This is fairly recent bird lore. Like late 80s to 90s. It takes a while for schools to catch up so I missed it as well.

Obsidian forms when lava cools very rapidly, limiting crystal growth. The lava pictured above most likely cooled slowly.

But they already have to read the subtitles for the interviews which are the bulk of the documentary, so people who don't like subtitles are going to be turned off anyway. It's a bizarre decision.

I watched this the other day and it's pretty good. But I'm not sure what the point of having Fred Armisen dub the show clips was. All the interviews are in Japanese with subtitles, as they should be. Why didn't they just subtitle the show? Baffling.

All this attention being paid to Keep is making me nervous. It's the only Google product besides Gmail that I think is actually good nowadays and there's a very good possibility that it's because it hadn't been significantly updated in a decade.
