I'm probably the minority here, but I don't use neovim for (time) efficiency. I use it for customization, hence minimalism, interoperability with other tools and less complex key bindings.

I do realize the irony of the last point. Sure, you need to learn basic navigation first, but past that the wizardry is much easier to learn than in other editors/IDEs. I do however not believe that wizardry is impossible in other editors/IDEs, at least most of the usual stuff.

I never dual-booted and I noticed I escaped a few traps. At best I'd base the decision on some research whether or not there is a way to run your irreplaceably essential software.

Thanks for the suggestions! Some have been already on my reading list, because they went into that direction and others I've added. I'm not sure, if my wording was understood 100% and if these books are what I'm looking for, but I guess the acknowledgement of the recursion would be a surprise element anyway. Thanks again!

I use mainly fish and occasionally nushell.
