I just read the new “Gender Dysphoria” report from the Department of Health and Human Services. And I genuinely don’t have enough middle fingers for it.

They’re calling it a “review of evidence.” What it really is? A thinly-veiled manifesto against gender-affirming care. It downplays suicide risk. It discredits medical consensus. It treats affirming care like reckless experimentation. And worst of all, it pretends to care about kids while laying the groundwork to destroy their futures.

This isn’t some fringe paper from a right-wing think tank. This is the federal government publishing a blueprint for denying life-saving care to trans youth and calling it “compassionate.”

They frame puberty blockers and hormones like we’re handing out poison. They paint therapists who affirm gender identity as dangerous. They quote detransitioners like they’re the norm and completely ignore the voices of actual trans people living full, joyful lives because of the care they received.

They pretend to be neutral. It’s not. It’s biased as hell. It’s written in that smug, sanitized language meant to sound objective while dripping with moral panic. It’s the same garbage we’ve seen in state bans, just scaled up and printed on official HHS letterhead.

I’m so tired of watching people who don’t know a single trans kid in real life act like experts on their bodies. Tired of watching politicians use “but what if they regret it” as a reason to legislate kids into trauma. Tired of the erasure, the gaslighting, the bullshit dressed up as care.

This report will be weaponized. It will be cited in court. It will be used to justify bans, lawsuits, and cruelty. And when that happens, HHS doesn’t get to say they didn’t know. They will have lit the match.

So yeah, I’m angry. And if you care about trans kids, you should be too.

Read it. Talk about it. Don’t let it disappear under the radar.

Because this isn’t just about healthcare. It’s about whether this country believes trans youth are worth protecting at all.

And right now, the answer coming from the top is no.

But ours has to be louder. And it has to be: We will not let you erase them.

We’ve made the difficult decision to cancel the Inclusion Day march scheduled for April 30th.

This decision comes after a targeted doxxing attack against Joe, our President, and growing safety concerns—especially given the rising hostility directed at the LGBTQIA+ community.

Our top priority is and always will be the safety of our people.

We may not be marching this month, but we’re not going anywhere.

We stand in full solidarity with the LGBTQIA+ community, and we will continue to show up however and wherever we can.

More soon.

Stay safe and stay strong.

You're definitely right about that.

I've mostly just been reposting the information from the Subreddit (SR link in Community Bio).

If you want, you're more than welcome to join the Mod Team (it's just me), if you're interested.

[–] Teknevra@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 4 days ago (4 children)

Yeah, I just posted the information.

Thank you for your help.

My bad, you guys.

Hey Everyone,

We’ve seen the comments and questions, and honestly, we get it. A lot of folks are tired of symbolic actions that don’t lead anywhere. So let us say this plainly: Inclusion Day x Denim Day isn’t just a photo op. It’s a full-scale civil rights action.

Yeah, we’re showing up in denim, but this is so much more than a fashion statement. We’re taking over part of DC with a real presence, launching a 30-day national boycott against major corporations that fund anti-LGBTQIA+ hate, and we’re calling out even the smaller players too. That includes privately owned DC businesses that backed MAGA or supported GOP-led rollbacks of our rights. It’s a bold move, yeah, but silence is complicity and we’re not playing soft anymore.

We’re pushing for federal protections, building real-time crisis networks, and preparing queer and trans youth to lead in the spaces where change actually happens. This isn’t performative. It’s pressure. And it’s only getting louder.

And let’s talk about where we actually are right now. MAGA and the GOP control the White House, both chambers of Congress, and the Supreme Court. That’s the brutal reality. And unless the left stops tearing itself apart over single-issue fights and starts showing the hell up together, it’s only going to get worse.

So this is us being honest. If you’re tired of the same half-measures, the same bureaucracy, the same bullshit, come build with us. We don’t need clout. We need power. Real, unapologetic, grassroots power.

April 30. National Mall. DC.
Be there. Make change.

To everyone hitting the streets in DC and across the country today for the Hands Off protests—YOU are the heartbeat of this damn movement.

Every step you take, every sign you hold, every chant you scream—it fucking matters. You’re not just resisting, you’re rewriting the rules. You’re showing this country exactly what happens when the people rise the hell up and demand more.

You are the voice. You are the pressure. You are the fucking fire.

Keep protesting. Keep shaking shit up.

Let’s be crystal fucking clear: As of May 2024, Tennessee officially made it law that if a trans or nonbinary student tells a teacher or counselor they want to be called by their real name, their real pronouns, or use the bathroom that matches who they are—that school is legally required to out them to their parents.

Immediately.

No questions.

No care if their home is violent.

No care if they’re kicked out.

No care if they end up on the fucking street.

This isn’t just hateful; it’s calculated.

It’s the same state that banned abortion even for survivors of rape or incest.

That refuses to protect victims, but bends over backwards to punish queer kids just for existing.

This is cruelty with intent. And we’re done being quiet about it.

We’re not asking nicely.

We’re not waiting. We are fucking mobilizing. Tennessee wants to come for our youth?

Fine. But they better know—we’re coming back with every organizer, every marcher, every goddamn ounce of rage and resistance we’ve got.

This isn’t up for debate.

This is our line in the sand.

You fucked with the wrong community, Tennessee.

We’re coming—not with fists, but with voices, marches, and a fuck-you that echoes for generations.

We’re not here to play nice.

We’re here because we’re done being erased, silenced, and sidelined.

Inclusion Day is not just a march — it’s a call to rise. If they’re uncomfortable with how loud we are, they should’ve thought twice before coming for our rights, our stories, our existence.

Show up.

Speak out.

Be impossible to ignore. April 30. Washington, D.C.

Let’s make history — on our fucking terms.

Speaking of Translove, I'm actually surprised that there isn't a Federated Alternative.

Would something like that even be feasible?

If so, it would no doubt give Fedi users more peace of mind, as well as security, to be on a dating app that's on the Fediverse, opposed to some random, corporate run platform.

Great Idea.

Perhaps call it something like:

BeeOff/BuzzOff: A play on "bee/buzz" similar to Honey, but with a focus on avoiding (off) certain products.

BoycottBee: Directly stating its purpose as a boycott tool.

Avoidify: Emphasizes the idea of avoiding certain products or brands.

BlanketBan: Suggests a comprehensive avoidance or ban.

NectarNone: Opposite of honey nectar, focusing on avoiding products.

ProtestPal: A friendly companion for those who want to make a statement by boycotting certain products.

SentryShop: Acts as a guardian or sentry while shopping, warning against certain products.

Ethico: Emphasizes ethical consumption by avoiding certain brands or products.

NoGo: Simple and direct, signaling products to avoid.

BlockBuy: Directly blocks purchases of unwanted products.

SanctionShop: Implies a personal sanction or restriction on certain products.

ProtestPulse: A tool that keeps the pulse of your protest or boycott efforts.

Avoida: A playful name emphasizing avoidance.

EDIT: I wonder, alongside a potential plug-in, what if someone created a federated platform or website that tracked the protests, boycotts, etc.?

It would allow Fediverse users to be able to follow the protests/boycotts.

RevoltChat?

Revolt Chat GitHub

Revolt Self-Hosted

Revolt Wiki

r/revoltchat

Although, I'm honestly surprised that there isn't a Fediverse equivalent/Alternative to Discord.

IK that platforms like Matrix exist, but what I'm talking about is a federated platform that's a clone of Discord.
