Perhaps the file is missing an extension, and those are the only apps OP has that accept files without an extension?
Schmoo
Sure if you completely disregard context you could interpret it as homophobic, but the way they used the insult was only to imply hexbear users are submissive towards Putin to the point of performing sexual favors for him. Not saying I agree with it, just trying to clarify and point out how you're being a bit over-zealous.
The anti-left sentiment is coming primarily from outside slrpnk. Solarpunk memes is the most popular community on the instance, giving it broad reach, and lemmy is broadly liberal with a few leftist sanctuaries (the most extreme of which are defederated from the liberal instances).
The way I see it, we have a couple options. Either we can go the way of lemmy.ml or hexbear and heavily censor liberals, creating constant inter-instance drama and likely ending up defederated, or we can accept that our most popular communities will be full of liberals in the comments and treat them as a form of outreach.
I prefer the second option. For one, even though the comments are full of liberals, the posts themselves are overwhelmingly leftist, which means a lot of liberals are being exposed to leftist views. They will reject it most of the time - as most people do when confronted with views that conflict with their own - but sometimes something might stick, and that's a good thing. Also we have our smaller and more niche communities to hang out in if you want to avoid the liberals.
I would like to hear @poVoq@slrpnk.net chime in on this, as they will be the one to ultimately decide the direction of the instance.
I'm from Kentucky and I feel pretty alien most of the time. Would not be surprised to find out my ancestors came here in a flying saucer instead of a covered wagon.
Just chiming in to thank you for putting in the effort. You're getting downvoted for it but you're fighting the good fight, you're not alone, and I'm certain that at least someone read your comments and began questioning their beliefs.
Such blatant classism.
The infographic was produced by a company called Visual Capitalist. Influence of money on the political process doesn't factor into their calculations. Hell, it probably gives the score a boost.
This infographic is produced by a capitalist propaganda network, Visual Capitalist, using data from a capitalist think tank, EIU (Economic Intelligence Unit). I would download the report and scrutinize their methodology but it requires you enter a ton of personal information.
It must be very convenient to assume everyone to your left is a Russian shill. Means you don't have to waste a single second thinking about what they have to say.
Let me approach this from a different angle. If a military defeat is necessary to create revolutionary conditions, is it not then in the best interest of the working class in each imperialist power for the other to win, and does that not then put the working class in each imperialist power at odds with one another?
Don't you believe in internationalism? Solidarity?
How many hundreds of thousands of lives does it cost to create revolutionary conditions, and how can you be so arrogant as to cheer while they're fed into the meatgrinder, believing with such certainty that it means you'll get your chance at revolution?
Kindly point out where I expressed critical support for western imperialism.
Christian (conservative) values do not differentiate between fear and respect. Preachers harp on their equivalence at the pulpit on a regular basis. They are taught by their respected authority figures that to fear is to respect, and they reinforce those values in their children. It's no wonder that authority figures in communities that hold these values are some of the most abusive.
