I’m not who you asked, but for me it’s that I have a person and several animals who depend on me. I’d never succeed if I had to do it for myself.

Lwaxana really bothered me as a child watching the original run of the series, I think because of how her interactions with Picard and Troi—characters I deeply cared about—were often uncomfortable. As an adult, though, I fucking love every minute of lwaxana, especially on ds9.

Biden has definitely been spicier since stepping aside and I love it. A lot of this stuff probably wouldn’t have worked as a nominee, but is great as the sitting president endorsing his vp.

When I was a kid that would have sounded incredibly old to me. Now the trombone i play semi-regularly is about 100 years old and I never think about it. It’s only about 20 years older than the one I learned on which was passed down from my uncle, and it’s in better shape so it just seems normal to me.

Edit: I looked up the serial number, it’s from 1925, so next year I can say 100 year old.

This is absolutely correct but still not the whole story. Recycling for glass and aluminum and steel can be done essentially infinitely creating a largely closed loop (though for glass in particular we really need to return to our old reuse practices). By using the same language for plastic as we do for better recycling methods we still make plastic recycling sound better than it is, even when reduction and reuse are emphasized.

Kim coco offered up her home to my friends when they needed to be on Oahu for medical care for months. I haven’t interacted with her too much, but will be forever grateful for that.

Personal style is a big part of breakdancing in general, but also being world class at it is important at the Olympics.

Yep, John Hersey’s “Hiroshima” scarred me for life (as well it should have) when I read it in 5th grade, especially as a Japanese American whose grandfathers fought on each side of the war.

I learned about this recently from Rachel Maddow’s Ultra podcast. It’s a crazy story and really puts current events into a better perspective. Highly recommended.

How can there be no genders if they’re revealing ganders which are expressly male?
