frame gen is not miracle algorithms, you need high enough frame rate to begin with to get smoother interpolation. And spider man or games that have fast change of camera speed disregarding momentum is not going to help.

yeah, I'd have to solder a PS1 controller to printer port back then. even when controller moves to wireless(like dual shock 3) the protocol was proprietary until windows have a proper driver for them.

just move to unified vram like console would be best.

I got AC:Odyssey during one of the sale cause I dig Greek mythology, had to get cheat engine and spare me the grind for upgrading gears and ship. Like sure you can just keep picking up randomly dropped Epic/Rare and replacement them when you leveling up(there are even player quest that put in specific spot to give you resource for those upgrades, just so other players can farm it) But I ain't get any time for that, I just cheat engine in max out resource and upgrade my Legendary gears I found through out the game. And you know what? By the end of the game(and I didn't find every Legendary, like maybe 60~70% of them) it would take me setting the resource to max twice to fully upgrade all my legendary + epic(with perks I like) gears. It would take probably months of my gaming time should I got it on console and can not use cheat engine.

No, upgrade gear is not required to finish the game. But after this experience I decides to never get another Ubisoft AC game nor any RPG on console or with always online feature(which means all transaction are done and authenticated to prevent cheating. ) I've done plenty open world, RPG, Monster Hunters without having to cheat. But the recent single player grinding + selling time saver booster pack make me whip out the cheat engine again. And I only cheat those stupid resource gating game that are designed to pad hours in to your play through.

that's why I argue you can't put "best" and "all time" together. If the title says "best game of their time but got snubbed by medias" then I might have a couple of my own to provide as example.

IMO, it's hard to claim best game of all time unless it ages well, and not just some unique gimmick the game provided at the time.

Ie, I don't like Tetris but for sure it is one of the best game of all time.

However, if what you mean is good games that somewhat get outshined by others or lacks media attentions, then I agree. There are plenty of other games, and I think people would have bias toward their favorite genre/type.

Metroid's signature feature, basically any enemy/breakable gives you something once you gain more type that needs ammo stock.

t doesn’t say more people overall use ad blockers. It says people that were already using them are now switching between different extensions. Let’s wait and see if this increases Firefox’s market share. This could be the real good outcome of all this.

That's literally the first thing after I install any new system.

  • get firefox on a stick so I don't have to open deprecated explorer or have to download Edge
  • install firefox, get ad blocker extension
  • then remove/turn off all the recommended shit that are now embedded to your start menu and task bar and lock screen. (I wish there is a github FOSS script that does this for new windows builds. )

I will abandon windows when the games can all be played on Linux properly.

Up vote but the boob (to our right) looks kinda weird.

Mark my word, once Gabe pass it's gonna be very very different. We have very different things to worried about, like climate change, but on software side and tech we shouldn't rely on monopolies. Valve was kept in that state because all the competition didn't actually put up a fight worth extra investment. The windows store pushed valve to develop SteamOS and Proton, they also back off on some revenue split policy because of EGS's deals. (Let's be honest, not all players care about which launcher they use, as long as they get better deals and can play the game they want.)

And to my experience, Steam's recent years' updates to store/client are not something I like as well.

  • I don't like the gamification of sales event etc.
  • I don't like the new unlimited scroll type, they backed off a bit and become like 3 pages long until you hit the top/popular/sales part.
  • I also don't like some of the UI changes(ie the downloads/library mixed together and not separate item)
  • I hated the auto start live streaming thing, if there is option to turn off that please let me know.

For EGS,

  • their search sucks
  • library page sucks, you can't really organize your free games/purchased games etc.
  • auto updates are pretty on par so that's okay.
  • their friends/etc also sucks.(not that I care much but at least it's far worse than steam one.)
  • I like that they adopted Nintendo's gold coin reward type to encourage consumer to purchase there.
  • games from other big publisher usually do require install their clients as well, which sucks. (it's similar on steam as well.)

I don't like the down vote button so I will spare you with that. Yes, they can still put it on their resume but what the employer did is scumbag move cause translation is a hard job to do well and good translator can make good money doing various job. In creative industry, credit listed is a big thing for anyone that starting out. If not so, why does movie, anime, game that have those long scrolling opening/ending credit?( A xxxxx Film, Directed by xxxxx, Produced by xxxxx.) For a video game, there is no "screen time" limit like movie/anime do, so not including the team and only the execs is like slapping those that worked really hard for the project to make it a better game.
