I have no idea why so many people are upset about Sync. There are so many FOSS alternatives. Just... don't use it? It literally doesn't impact you at all.

I have nothing against people that want to use Threads, truly, and I would welcome them to Lemmy. That said, I do draw the line at federating with Threads. I'm here specifically because it's not part of a big company. If anyone wants to enjoy that content, go for it! Just create an account over there.

A couple things I'm struggling to do:

  • Search posts within a community (hence why I'm posting this, perhaps it's been answered before!)
  • While viewing a post on the home feed, go to the community it was posted in. I like viewing Everything so I can discover new communities, but if I find one I want to subscribe to, there doesn't appear to be any way to view the community. I'd expect it to be in the three-dot menu (it isn't), but tapping the name of the community in the header doesn't seem to work either; it only goes to the user. Is there any way to do this?
