Okay, apparently I need to be more clear/relatable/explicit: too many particularly ugly dick-pics and posts of equivalent quality/utility.

No-where near as bad as reddit, but like I said, not-at-all an improvement on my subscribed feed, which I am happy with. I don't mind dicks. Pics I can smell and smell nasty, and posts of such quality, of which there are an order of magnitude more than actual dick-pics that even bother me, are another matter.

I can and do often drive by the city dump to get to other places. More often, I browse all just in case. Rarely, I do actually browse lemmynsfw.com un-filtered. Happy?

... and I have? That's not the topic at hand though.

No idea. Apparently when you try to post or comment in an area you are banned from, as OP encountered, but, contrarian/dismissive/contentious/just-plain-dickish as I can be, I've never even seen that.

Its not often I make time to peruse Local or All any more though. Basically, too many dick-pics and stuff of that quality there, versus my tastes. I am subscribed to enough communities that there is likely very little on Lemmy I am missing out on.

... and if it was Taiwanese waters instead of mainland China's that were breached, I could maybe be bothered to continue to argue with you.

Yeah, upon reading the article I conceded the arguement vs the headline. Doesn't mean I have to continue responding to you. Bye now.

Likely from a community they were not previously aware existed. Shit we are banned from shouldn't be showing up in our All or even Local feeds ... unless you like people making alt accounts to go trolling or whatever?

No, dude literally said at the end that he had no idea what else would be the cause. That's a pretty damn strong opinion in the face of everything that's happened in recent decades.

The extra material/weight needed for the same/better strength in PVC becomes an advantage. The fittings do seem expensive until you compare the cost to 3D print equivalents. Any joints you don't want to wobble, you cement.

She was joking about putting a cot in it, after shelving and plants, and yeah, it seemed roomy enough to me.

Did you? Sure, it quotes a study, but its otherwise a bunch of quotes from one of the study authors, an author who has a definite idea of what to blame:

Smart phones, and nothing else. Let's hope he's better at conducting studies than he is at staying abreast of current events, but yeah, this non-sense is close to cream-of-the-crop for the ~~Scientific American~~livescience.com "articles" that are always cluttering my Lemmy feed. Okay, so I confused one site for another, but we should demand better of more respectable sites, as well as round-filing the utter garbage.

The store-bought(/online-purchased) ones actually tend to have metal frames. Plastic(PVC, usually) strong enough to support even a flimsy structure tends to be more expensive(although more flexible and weather-proof) than metal tubing, particularly when you consider increased weight and volume requirements, increasing both packaging and shipping costs.

My wife recently ordered a 6.5ft x 6.5ft x 10ft one for about $80, shipped. Biggest concern we have so far is the need to strap it down so it doesn't blow away. It came with double-layered sheeting with a built-in airgap(think doubled-up bubble-wrap, only it feels like vinyl).

Fair enough. Apologies.

Turns out the headline is correct, but not because of anything to do with recognizing Taiwan. The ship sailed within 12 miles of the Chinese Mainland.
