Female and married here. I love being strong and protective of my husband. I will protect him and his reputation fiercely, if I hear anyone start to talk shit, I'm the first to shut it down. He's not someone who 'needs' it (by gender role standards) but it makes me feel sexy and strong to defend and care for him. Then there are days where I'm the cute defenceless fawn who needs coffee in bed and cuddles and for him to put on my favorite show. It really depends on our mood, but what is amazing is how effortlessly we move between me or him being the dominant force. Sometimes we balance, and we storm in there like a ragtag police duo in an 80s movie.

Yep, just a shame I lose all those useful toxic substances when I cook the berries. All I'm left with is delicious, safe wine.

I'm gradually working through my forage wishlist. Next up, persimmons! What's on your wishlist?

He was a stray that distributed himself to my friend's house, but they have to do some adjustments so they can keep him isolated from their other cat for a while, so he's on vacation at ours. He's a complete lovebug and total derp.

But then how much time have you saved not having to receipt the receipts.

And the non kitten fellows! We wanted a third cat after adopting two kittens years ago. We were so over the erratic nature combined with the roll the dice luck of whether they were floor pissers, plant eaters, etc, so we decided to look for adult cats. The only one the shelter had was this mongy manky stray who was estimated to be 5 years old. When we went in the adoption room with her, she looked at us and did a massive wet shit that made us all evacuate the room. Her adoption photos make her look mangy, aloof, old, dirty, and distant, not to mention smelly.

Later, when the poo particles had settled, we went back in and picked her up. She sank into my arms and I just knew... I cried and couldn't bear to let her go.

Four years on, her shaggy fur has became soft, her distant eyes started slow blinking and showing emotion, her little frame filled out and she became an absolute hellhound for dinner time. When you walk in the door, no matter who you are (literally, you could be a burglar), she will run up to you and do this silent meow asking to be picked up. When you hold her, she purrs so much her body shakes and she drools until her face is dripping. She will climb into bed and play little spoon at night, and she loves laps all times of the day.

We've had her 4 years and she no longer does wet shits, but is the same loving cat that melted when someone held her and showed her love. She converted me to older cats.

Pls fact check me: when I was a kid hiking with my parents, we passed a guy on the trail who was bleeding profusely from his finger. We asked if he was ok and he reassured us his car with first aid kit was just down the trail, and we asked what happened and he said he got bitten by a ladybug. This shocked me as I played with them all the time and considered them harmless, so I said something to that effect and he told me they rarely bite, but do have massive powerful jaws. I think he was off his rocker, but it's always made me slightly apprehensive of the cute little bug guys.

I didn't have an issue, I just cut off the base, soaked and rinsed, tore into smaller parts, and rinsed again. Then boiled it in broth to add to chicken noodle soup. Perfection!

Oh darn and I was just about to

Another first. Will be doing the nibble test tomorrow.

I recommend trying with a boring fabric first. I was lucky it worked out on the initial go, but it's a little fiddly getting the 'D' shape of the bag.

I liked the print as it was kinda retro colorful, so I sewed it into a bag with toggle closure and belt loops. The canvas belt is also a revived old belt I got 25 years ago. My mum made me the little labels (I had to edit my name off them for the internet!)

Butter and garlic, yep, it's delicious! Don't judge my filthy forager nails lol

...until recently, ramps (Allium tricoccum) have been a fairytale. I went to Vermont for a trip and my friend showed me her ramps field, although it was summer and they'd all died back to flowers. Well, hiking in an undisclosed location in east Tennessee today, I saw this. I rubbed my fingers on it and... YEP, RAMPS. Further down the trail it got completely boombastic with them. This is a random trailhead off a main road, so I suspect I've got a good chance of snagging a respectable harvest next season. So exciting.

The berries are apparently edible though.... lol

My 12 year old cat was going crazy by the window, I looked expecting to see a squirrel, and instead saw this pintsized nugget cowering between the glass and the screen. No chip, no snip, covered in fleas, and very hungry. We got her sorted with the routine medicals and brought her home to look after her while we find her forever home. The grumpy old man cat seems to have warmed to her, and I'm REALLY hoping they don't bond because we don't need a fourth!
