Interesting. If I ever find people to play a campaign with I might have to look into it.

Then again, the one thing I really want to see for BattleTech is a CBT version of Aces (not that Aces for Alpha Strike has even been launched yet). Sure, I can just run MegaMek and play against Princess but then what do I have all this plastic for? Besides, an automated OPFOR would be nice for a multiplayer campaign as well.

CEOs aren't solely at fault, though. The board of directors is responsible for setting broad policies which might involve increasing profit even at the cost of human lives. And most publicly traded corporations have mission statements that explicitly prioritize profit over all other concerns because otherwise their shares wouldn't be as attractive on the stock market.

Mind you, making the CEO job unattractive will make it harder to find people who implement board policies. But ultimately that's a punctual relief attempt for a systemic issue – the way the stock market operates. Things will not improve as long as we not just allow but require companies to increase profit no matter what.

Ja, Amazons glorreiche Logistikkünste sind... so 'ne Sache.

Ich habe mal ein Handy da gekauft, weil Sony einen Preorder-Deal hatte, den ich mitnehmen wollte. Amazon war der einzige Vertriebspartner, bei dem ich schon ein Konto hatte. Ergebnis: Statt dem Handy kam ein Buch über Lemmy Kilmister und Amazon hat keinen Prozess für "ihr habt mir den falschen Artikel geschickt"; ich konnte nur das Buch zurückschicken und vom Kauf zurücktreten. Natürlich bin ich damit aus dem Preorder-Prozess gefallen, der der einzige Grund war, überhaupt bei der Truppe zu kaufen.

Lektion gelernt: Bequemlichkeit ist kein Grund, bei Amazon zu kaufen.
