I have it set up on 3 computers and can now report that it works really well.
No waiting for it to sync, it's all right there when opening Freetube. I had been hoping for something like this for a while.

Android would be great indeed.

We should all get cake after losing an argument.

ah, gotcha. yeah, smartphones are amazing devices, feels bad letting them gathering dust.

I daily drove Ubuntu Touch for a few months. It was quite usable!

Build, as in assembling hardware?

Other well made and fun keyboard is the one from Dessalines: https://github.com/dessalines/thumb-key

I loved T9. In a way I still use it to launch apps on my phone (Appdialer). I wish there was an open source version of that app.

Keyboards:

  • 8Vim if you're in the mood for a very well made and very difficult keyboard. I've used it for a while and I still suck at it, but I'm not getting bored.
  • also FUTO (the company that makes Grayjay if you're familiar) released a keyboard, and it's quite good.
More importantly it incorporate an on device voice recognition. I use it for French and English and I'm very happy with it. You can install it as a standalone.

Linux only (I think), only between desktop clients, and it requires a server.

In the short time I've tested it, everything worked.

FT-Sync (in beta) has just been released.
Also on the dev's website (in French)

I think Linux only, and between desktop clients, no mention of Android.

Also manual install, but it's not too hard.

Lenovo Explorer. I don't play VR games really, but it's fun when my little nephews visit (the A770 handles simple games like Beat Saber well). Outer Wilds in VR seemed like a good time to dust of the headset but it's a bit too stuttery. I didn't look for any type of fix or optimization though.

But if you're serious about VR gaming Intel Arc is not a good idea for now. However on /r/intelarc some report good results, saying it varies from game to game.

I'm testing it in VR, the modder did an amazing job. Unfortunately my GPU absolutely blows with VR games (Intel Arc A770)

Thank you for this detailed answer. It's very interesting, and indeed a service worker sounds like a good answer to my bad connection

Hi!

I like to have some preferred websites showing up as big icons in a new tab (4 rows of 8 icons each).

I had them pinned and rearranged to my liking but today they're all gone.

Before I try to recreate it as it was, maybe there is a good extension for a startpage? All I need is some big favicons (not any other feature like weather).

edit: I'm going through the extensions but can't find one that I like. Is it possible to make a backup of the pinned websites so if Firefox resets them I can just bring them back? It only happened twice in a few years but it takes a while to restore.
