So that's a pretty interesting question, because you're asking for a modern RTS which doesn't quite exist. It's not that the RTS genre died, it's just kind of evolved into two separate paths based on what people enjoyed from those games.
For those that liked the fast action, APM, control of units, MOBAs have mostly filled that role.
For those that liked planning out and building a huge base, there are a bunch of base/empire building games.
For me, it wasn't so much the diversity, it was that everyone seemed to be struggling with their diverse identity. It's the 23rd century, people should not be uncomfortable with their identities anymore, ESPECIALLY the crew of an advanced space ship. It just seems that rather than a professional crew that we see in every other Star Trek show, they decided to pack this one with a bunch of high schoolers struggling to figure out who they are. For fuck sakes, the ship itself starts having an identity crisis at one point.
Have you heard of executive orders? Sure he can't do it directly, but imposing a 100% tax on corporations/individuals buying more than a certain number of residential properties? A large tax on rental income from residential properties? Quit acting like he's powerless.
I'm so glad the "economy" is doing well so rich fucks are more richer and fuckier than before. Meanwhile everyone else is struggling. Hard. Such great. Many progressive.

ESPECIALLY given what they had to know was suspicious optics of the team going there. What sort of emergency would a random person at the white house have to have for a team to show up there despite the questions it would bring?
There's only a handful of people who would be at the white house, unfeasible to leave, and has their movements in public tracked at all times. Biden is on that short list.
