Interesting! Does the curbside program bill you by weight as well? That sounds labor intensive, compared to here where you just rent the $small, $$medium or $$$large bin and pay quarterly regardless of use. And recycling and composting are free.

That is neat! But since it charges you to put things in, wouldn't that encourage people to just throw their food in the trash? Or is that discouraged somehow?

The county I live in (Northern California) requires that household food waste go into the curbside compost bin, or home compost. They do random checks to make sure you haven’t put any food in the landfill bin and you can get a fine.

It gets turned into compost for landscaping, along with the yard waste, not food though.

While Democratic Sen. Tammy Baldwin has warned that climate change threatens “our very way of life,” GOP challenger Eric Hovde compared clean energy tax credits to “corporate welfare.”

I thought they were into that..?

This thing is way more expensive than it seems like it should be for what it is, but if you've got a yard full of burrs it's worth the $270 to clear it up and reduce general misery at home.

For things that have a short time between ready and gone with the wind, I use organza bags, like for wedding favors, just put one over the top when it’s almost there and it will collect them without hindering the drying process. Some people use paper bags and twine, but this is cuter.

A Malaysian restaurant I used to go to always served crispy deep fried parsley as a garnish. It was very good, but I don't think it would keep well.

I have not calculated the volume of an EZ Up, the pointy top makes it a bit trickier than I'm up for before coffee. And I can only find the diameter (33 megaparsecs) which would be 3.41430562e+23 EZ Ups across.

Yeast for healthy skin, to (possibly but probably not) help with fleas and it's tasty and makes the collagen mush enticing. Collagen for her old lady joints. I started giving it to her when I noticed her losing flexibility in her knees. Can't give one a treat and not the other, so they both get it. I don't know if it's helping, but they like it.

The sighting shows that the revival of the animal, which was once nearly extirpated from Pennsylvania, continues throughout the region.

The river otter ogled the camera, posing for an inadvertent selfie on a chilly winter night. The adult critter explored its surroundings for 45 minutes before slipping off into the darkness, ever elusive.

The unexpected December cameo marked the first known presence of a river otter along the Ridley Creek watershed in Chester County for 100 years, signifying that the revival of the animal, once nearly extirpated from Southeastern Pennsylvania, continues throughout the region.

“We haven’t caught much else by way of footage, but a homeowner has reported seeing it swim in their pond just few weeks ago, which is a good sign that it’s hanging out in the area,” said Lauren McGrath, director of the watershed protection program for the Willistown Conservation Trust, a nonprofit in Chester County.

McGrath’s team installed a game camera on private property to monitor beaver on private land near where the trust recently acquired 90 acres of the 218-acre Kirkwood Farm at Plumstock and Providence Roads in Willistown.

Conservation actions are effective at reducing global biodiversity loss, according to a major study.

International researchers spent 10 years looking at measures, from hatching Chinook salmon to eradication of invasive algae.

The authors said their findings offered a "ray of light" for those working to protect threatened animals and plants.
