No worries, I travelled to the USA multiple times and came back safely.
It's entirely possible though? Surprised that people don't know this.
You of course need to follow some strict rules and can only go see the government sanctioned sights and tours. From what I remember it's a lot of propaganda monuments and some caves.
Just behave and it's not really risky or anything. It does sound pretty dull to me though.

These things could stay in the secondhand market for years and years, instead they're made unusable and end up in the trash.
Bullet hell requires the player to dodge a shit-ton of projectiles to survive.
Vampire Survivors does not have that element, so it's not a bullet hell.
This genre is sometimes called a reverse bullet hell or bullet heaven.

I've read through your links. They don't have much to do with the codebase itself, but with protecting the trademarks.
From what I read, you're free to change whatever you want. You just can't go around using their trademarked names for your modified version.
