I prefer chaos. I have it place windows in a randomly generated location, and set at a random window size (if the app allows it). 😈
This is an example of why we need to use open source UEFI/BIOS instead of one of these closed systems that are forced upon us.
I had similar problems because my time was out of sync. I turn off all tracking, so it disabled automatic time syncing.
Flatpak is actually a really good solution. Snap is garbage though.
I do a combination of Flatpak for niche 3rd party applications and apt on Debian for standard stuff that everyone wants/needs.
I follow KDE and Gnome.
#1 was true more in the late 90s to early 00s. The operating system has matured quite a bit since then.
I love Debian, but I hear a lot of people suggesting Linux Mint for new users. If you're afraid of committing to a change, grab a cheap used system to try it out. Just know that if you have better hardware, itbwill really shine.
