I was thinking about something to comment here for 5 minutes and I'm speechless. Maybe I'll read it to have a proper opinion

Mkv not so much a video format as it is a container format, so maybe it could be separated like this:

Video format: av1
Audio format: opus/flac
Subtitle format: srt/ass
Thumbnail format: jxl
Container format: mkv

As far as I know mkv supports all the formats outlined in this list and multiple streams of it.

Edit: I was wrong about the thumbnail format, it only supports jpg and png

Why does that one file have two .ts extensions, is it for double the type safety?
