Serious question: I know that there are tracking cookies and the user should be able to decline those, but most sites have an auth cookie that stores you're credentials. The devs can store it in a different place like local storage but thats really unsecured.what can the devs do in this situation when the user decline all cookies?

I'm looking for a distro recommendation for development needs.

I have a 16gb ram pc and using docker and k3s to run my code, and multiple intellijs on a linux vmware vm (my host is windows) which eats a lot of ram. I tried ubuntu, Debian and xubuntu.

Most of them didn't handle my ram consumptions, xubuntu is good but I'd like to know if there's a better one for my needs.

This is why GaaS will never work. It's good for wealthy teenagers that have a lot of free time. Most mmos require 3-4 hors a day to keep up with the content and don't bother to login if you don't have at least half an hour to play. Every season/patch your build is worthless and all mods you added don't work,etc..

Hi guys, I'm on lemmy since the reddit api announcement and am subscribed to tens of communities. When I'm setting my feed to watch topics only from Subscribed communities (hot/active), I see a lot of topics from the same communities, like 10 topics in a row from 1 community then 3 from a different one and again from the first one. My point is that I want to get diversed topic from all subscribed communities ( I know there are new and hot topics there) and not seeing repeated communities only. Is there a way to make some communities show less topics or make the feed more diverse (other than I subscribe to the loud ones) ?

I had a feeling they'll put something like this, so I went in every now and then to see how infinity will react. I really loved the app, devs did an amazing job

Hi, it might be against what most people feel and think right now but I feel that it needs to be said.

I come from rational place even though I currently hate reddit and removed it completely from my devices, but I'm not going to delete my posts or nuke my comments.

Like it or not Reddit is still a huge database for a lot of solutions and great posts and discussions about opinions, reviews, how-to and many many more. Lemmy will take time to keep the pace and be filled with these types of content. And it might might take years to get to it (I really hope it will).

Deleting and nuking posts and comments are only distroy what we and the entire reddit community built over the years and it will be a huge loss for all of us.

If you ask me, the best way to say 'fuck you' to reddit, is keep all the old Content there, try to migrate as much as we can here and from now on build this content here. When/if Lemmy be mature enough we can go back and fuck everything up on reddit.

This is my 2 cents.
