I've never seen pex running into a house from the street/ground. It's always been copper up to the water meter at the very least and it's code (in NJ at least) to put grounding wire there.

The track mode and Tesla mentioning track performance upgrades. I get what your saying, anyone that understands what's necessary for track use would know it's not but, if Tesla uses "Track" this and that in marketing then it's fair to test those claims and judge those claims.
