Ever since i heard of this concept i was very interested. Love the idea of planting something other than grass that takes less or no water. I think thats awesome so thanks for making these communities!

As for your lawn, we all get busy man. Stuff falls through the cracks. Dishes dont get done, laundry goes unfolded and some shrubs get a bit too long but thats ok.

While I do want competition in the web space, its a good thing that Google could get told to stop doing stuff like this.

I dont want Mozilla to die of course but companies need to be held responsible for all the shit they pull. I'd imagine if Mozilla wasnt able to maintain firefox anymore it would fall to the open source community like they said in the article and I'd probably still use it.

No one company should own the internet.

I'm def a windows hater but i dont fault people for using it. Most folks arent gonna know how to install a diffrent os or even want to if what they have already works.

Use what you like and what works.

I work at a small company where I wear a lot of hats.

I audit chats, supervise a team of agents, answer billing and sales tickets as well as the phone for sales.

When theres downtime i also work on spreadsheets which we use to track agent performance and make tools to help us work. Thats probably the msot fun part. Its a good job.

Pay is way under what we should be getting but i like the company and they treat me well. Plus wfh so cant complain too much.

I think you're definitely in the majority on lemmy with this take but i agree.

I have a "smart tv" that has never even seen WiFi because i prefer having control over my hardware. My media pc is all i need. I even got a little remote for an air mouse and keyboard combo that works just fine for me.

Lol ive had that kind of experience as well. I got lucky and first med i tried was really effective. I'm now able to just stop thinking for a while. All the voices are quiet and no music plays.

I just got diagnosed last year and ive had ADHD all my life without knowing it so super weird to just have a quiet head. I get what you mean, its such a drastic change, but a good one.

Before i was got on meds, i constantly had music playing in my head along with all the other thoughts that were trying to be heard.

I'm a huge fan of reaper. Very nice daw to work with and really reasonably priced for small business/personal use license of $60. Works on Linux, Mac, and Windows.

Its pretty customizable and comes with intgrated plugins that are pretty powerful once you learn to use them. Like any daw, theres a bit of a learning curve and while its not as popular as some other daws, I highy recommend it. I have not found a daw that I like more.

I often feel like im in this weird in between with tech. Like im pretty good technology and a power user but at the same time, theres tons of small things I forget or overlook and i end up feeling like an idiot lol.

This was a great read to help me feel like im not alone in that. I think anyone whos ever built a pc can relate to "Oh yea it helps if you turn on the power supply" or "damnit, i plugged the monitor into the motherboard ports instead of the GPU"

I think it's important to remeber that you're only human. Bound to overlook something. I sure dont remember that as often as i should.

Not am audiophile or anything but i do like having good quality sound for listening to stuff so ive gone down the rabbit hole a couple of times.

If the audio sounds bad on more than a few headphones or speakers, could be the phone is bad out of the box. Does happen. I had a phone that was supposed to have accidental touch protection for when your phone is in your pocket but it would still turn on and mess with stuff while in my pocket.

I would recommend you check on a few diffrent speakers to see if theres any noticeable difference in quality. Headphones vs another pair or speakers in your house vs your cars speakers. That should give you an idea if its the phone itself or your current audio devices.

Jellyfin was my go to as well. It was really nice to play with and finamp was as well. Once setup it was just as easy and nice to use as Spotify without all the ads and Spotify randomly playing songs after i finish a podcast episode.
