Well, as you know with Reddit, it's mostly them telling me they make the rules, and me just trying to argue back while not getting banned

Mods should have been shepherding communities to alternative and open platforms themselves though.

Indeed. I'm still regularly fighting with a country mod team because even though we offered them to because admins on our Lemmy communities, they still didn't want to allow a single post about it. Ironically enough, they did the API 2023 strike, but it seems like they were never really interested in an actual alternative.
