If any loyal Reg readers have built a Pi-hole allow-list to whitelist El Reg and its sister sites, do please let us know in the comments.

block others but spare our sites.

I've been running a variation of this as an add-on in my HomeAssistant installation, and it works well. I just wish there was a way to block YouTube ads.

isponsorblock and isponsorblocktv are pretty good options for muting/blocking ads and skipping sponsored content

The article says that pihole doesn't work on a pi zero but while a wired connection is better I've been using pihole on a pi zero w for years now without issues
