What are the play mechanics? Is it a management game?

It is a tycoon simulator game a bit on the chill, easier side. I haven't played the new installment yet, but if it's anything like it's predecessor then I can say the following.

You are a player that manages the museum from hiring your first employee to managing expeditions and displaying artifacts i.e you micromanage a lot of things. If you are into building tycoons, it's perfect. Not as hard as other simulator games like factorio, sim city, etc, so I don't feel overwhelmed.

Thanks! Sounds like something I would enjoy and could play casually beside work and kids.

I'm glad I could help. You can look at Two Point Hospital or Campus too. But what I've heard is Museum is the latest and best in the series.

Nice! Two Point Hospital was good. I have TP Campus but never played. I should pick this up too.
