Summary

Trump is withdrawing support for scientific research that references climate change, forcing researchers to alter project titles to retain funding.

Grants, including Fulbright scholarships and National Science Foundation (NSF) projects, are being frozen or revised to remove terms like "climate change" and "equity."

The administration has also cut NSF staff and scrubbed climate references from federal programs. Scientists warn this politicization threatens research, public safety, and national security.

Critics argue it prioritizes industry interests over scientific progress. Calls for greater scientific investment are growing.

It's going to be difficult to do the important research in this political clima- wait, no ahhhhhhh!

Seriously though I only joke because it's just so fucked up. I feel so bad for all the hard work people have done that's just being rolled back because of this cult of ignorance.

Why are insurance companies just stopping with insuring houses and businesses? Without insurance, no loans, no economic activity!

Let's study this. Aaand it's defunded. Looks like it'll remain a mystery, sir.

“Why is my federal funding being pulled? I’m just doing a study on the effects of trans fats on the political climate!”

What about my survey on diversity of investment portfolios with inclusion of private equity?

Just got the word today at my job that the people who write reports need to remove all mention of climate related things, not even a year after they finally decided to tell that we can include it. So basically, the last legislation moved too slowly and this administration is moving rapidly to change what they finally implemented.

We quickly moved into the Joffrey Baratheon period of this regime, which is typically stopped when he pisses off the wrong powerful people.

As for us on the bottom, we suffer as the high lords play their games of thrones.

Could be the headline of an onion article

Time to start researching "global long term weather patterns" instead.

Collective action from the bottom up, across the world. It's the only game in town.

If you're not sure how, step one is "don't scoff like a fucking idiot".
