Cat was a foreign agent. Sinking 3 ships.

Not a foreign agent. Just an agent of chaos. He sunk 1 German ship and two UK ships.

The Germans definitely sacrificed the Bismark to implant their saboteur among the enemy.

In fact, after the third ship sank, Sam would spend time on two other ships before eventually ending up in a sailor's home in the UK. Those two other ships ended up being sunk as well after Sam had left them.

The home? It sunk too shortly after his death

When I first came here, this was all swamp. Everyone said I was daft to build a castle on a swamp, but I built in all the same, just to show them. It sank into the swamp. So I built a second one. That sank into the swamp. So I built a third. That burned down, fell over, then sank into the swamp.

Any sailor that survived 3 sunk shops was considered bad luck and would likely never find work again. No clue how they used to travkthat information, but sailors have always been incredibly superstitious and they take bad luck way more seriously than good luck.

There's a quest chain in Divinity Original Sin (2014) that involves a cat named Unsinkable Sam, original name Oscar, that I literally played for the first time over the weekend. I had no idea there was a possible historical basis for the character. Crazy coincidence that this was posted today.

Edit: Damn autocorrect

I know what you did last night and I'm going post something related later today just to duck with you.

I'll try my best to endure said ducking like the idiot man child that I am.

He looks very healthy and meaty. Must've been an excellent mouser on those ships.

His face is like, "again with this shit??"

I never knew about Unsinkable Sam until Divinity: Original Sin. Thank you Larian for the trivia :)
