Anyone else hate this? I don't want a dumbed down bar. If Im on the homepage, I want to know. Same as if I'm on a subpage.

This is in reference to Mozilla changing the URL to ALWAYS show only the domain. Absolutely terrible IMO. As for the double tall menu now? That is mostly fine.

At least give me an option to see the full url.

I agree with you.

Edit: The steps below also fix the first issue. (Restart required?)

For your second issue it's been discussed at https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/post/23856847 and https://connect.mozilla.org/t5/discussions/firefox-mobile-toolbar-redesign-needs-a-compact-mode/td-p/62031

You can use the secret menu to disable the navigation toolbar. https://firefox-source-docs.mozilla.org/mobile/android/fenix/Secret-settings-debug-menu-instructions.html

As for the first problem, if someone finds a fix I'd be happy to know. (Edit: Err, actually these steps fixed it?)

I agree the option to see the full URL should be there but as a power user myself I dont really care. I haven't tested it myself, but I assume you can still click in to edit the full URL?

I love the addition of a forwards button because having yo navigate to a separate menu just to go back to the page I accidentally left is a PITA.

You can click to edit but a lot of times I'm not sure when it reloads as I open it if i was on a certain page of the site or drilled down further. Annoying I even have to question it honestly. I don't see the value at all dumbing it down.

And agreed on the second. The share and refresh being shown are overall an improvement without having to hit the hamburger menu.

Thats fair. I saw someone in a different thread saying it's done to prevent uneducated users (most of them) from phishing attempts, but you should still be able to turn it back on. Hopefully they see the outcry from power users and give the option, I always prefer a KDE philosophy where it should be simple by default powerful when needed.

This is done for user safety from phishing, and is very much not something power users needs. But any non-power user exclusively benefits from this at no downside. It should be toggleable though, isn't it?

Yeah, I get why it's there and agree that it's probably a good default. It's also something I wouldn't want for myself and would be happy to toggle.

I also realise that we're all just talking about Nightly. I'm hoping the toggle appears at some point, will report bugs if I encounter them, and am going to hold back on the outrage for now.
