  1. Be excellent to each other. Civility, No Racism, No Bigotry, No Slurs, No calls to violences, No namecalling, All that good stuff, follow lemm.ee's rules, follow the rules of your instance, etc.

  2. We are a Pro-Conservative forum. Posts must have a clear pro-conservative, or anti left-wing bias. We are interested in promoting conservatism and discussing things that might get ignored elsewhere. All sources are acceptable, however reputable sources with a reputation for factual reporting are preferred.

  3. Dissent is allowed in the comments, but try to be constructive; if you do not agree, then provide a reason which is backed up by references or a reasonable alternative interpretation of the provided facts. That means the left wing is welcome to state their opinions, but please keep it in good faith.

A polite request, not a rule, if you feel the need to report a comment, please don't reply to it.

Because democracy is an abstract name for a system and republic is the more concrete result of that system, democracy is frequently used when the emphasis is on the system itself. We could say that democracy is to republic as monarchyis to kingdom.

Oh look - oligarchic apologetics in a periodical named in honor of the country's original oligarchists.

Idk, his comment didn't seem emotional at all. In fact it held some harsh truths that are making you react emotionally.

This isn’t an issue of ideological debates, it’s literally just not understanding the difference in terms properly.

The United States has a form of government best described as a Representative Democracy. It is structured as a Republic, with Representatives elected through Democratic processes.

Trying to dismiss improper usage of the terms is not what an “emotional meltdown” is. That would actually be closer to what the OP is doing, trying to assert the incorrect usage of the terms in an attempt to be correct.

I get you’re not actually interested in discussing this shit but please don’t align yourself with the confidently incorrect ones.
