I have to admit, after seeing the trailers, it really dampened my enthusiasm for it. I wish they'd done like Newsies and Hamilton and filmed the live stage show instead, because the trailers make it look like overproduced, AI-generated slop. I may give it a watch now that it's going to streaming though, because at least I can turn it off if it doesn't suit my tastes.

MODERATORS
I went to see it on Christmas Eve with the family and it was actually pretty good. It wasn't my first choice or even really on my list of movies to watch, but it was enjoyable and well done. The costumes look pretty great imo, and everyone does a really good job.
I have not seen the stage show or read the book.
I hope to be pleasantly surprised. The book is very different from the musical, super super dark.
I was already put off by the long run time. Then I found out this is part 1, and part 2 is a year out.. I have zero interest.
Maybe when part 2 is out I'll give it a try but I doubt it.
Took the kids to see it.
Couldn't stop thinking about Shrek/Fiona singing.
I definitely read that as POVD and was pretty confused for a second.
