espeak's apk doesn't seem to have been updated in 2 years and says it isn't compatible with my phone (Pixel 8a). I'm not sure if there are any decent ones. I want TTS for OSMAnd's navigation while driving. They do prerecorded voices too but those can only say prerecorded things obviously, so eg can't say specific road names.

RHVoice. I am blind and rely on the TalkBack screen reader a lot and this is the synthesizer I use.

Thank you! I've got RHVoice working with TalkBack. It's not working with OSMAnd but I assume that's an OSMAnd issue not an RHVoice issue, so I'll go troubleshoot that

I haven't used RH Voice for OSMAnd but I do use it with Organic Maps and it works very well

tysm for this suggestion—just tried Organic Maps and it works perfectly with RHVoice! :)

Second recommendation for RHvoice, organic maps uses whatever your system tts is for its turn by turn verbal directions and I was curious if there was a good open source option, RH voice seemed decent in my time with it (switched phones and haven't set things back up)

There is also Kaldi, but it's not on F-Droid though.
