What Monero?
Monero
This is the lemmy community of Monero (XMR), a secure, private, untraceable currency that is open-source and freely available to all.

When many other markets crash, Monero often remains stable. It would therefore make sense to exchange into XMR when prices are falling.
Mostly holding with occasional spending on services that do accept it
Hm, and which are that services? Share them, I am interested
You can shop with Monero on shopinbit.com or buy cards on coincards.com. Then there are peer-to-peer Monero markets on xmrbazaar.com and moneromarket.io
All services happen to be listed on monerica.com
Nice try fed /s
But if you are genuinely curious, here are a few things you can pay for with XMR:
- You can pay for VPN, many providers like iVPN and Mullvad accept it.
- There are anonymous hosting platforms like https://njal.la.
- Recently I discovered Nostr, which is a distributed Twitter alternative less centralized than Mastodon, and there are paid relays you can purchase access to with Monero.
I personaly donate to some Russian media outlets with XMR, which is not exactly a service purchase, but a good way to help them to survive government pressure.
@pound_heap @key_brolin Many of my favorite Patreon creators have XMR tip jars. Shoutout to Yannic Kilcher, who breaks down AI papers so us STEM-educated non-experts can keep up. Super awesome.
If we were trading Monero, the price had grown up with the rest of crypto 😜
I might hold it and I might use it on a pretty frequent basis to buy things like hand soap and AA batteries.
Why are you asking us our business man? Don't you know we care about privacy??
Neither of the three
I usually swap, when it's needed, on Exolix or Trocador. But it's not the best coin to longterm holding, obviously
No
Strictly research only. Don't buy monero meme refers to mining testnet coins and virtually bathing in them.
Neither, i don't own cryptocurrencies yet. If i do, i'll use bitcoin for trading and monero as digital cash.
