I'd be very surprised if it didn't contain any anti-Russian sentiments.

IIRC they removed the Russian VO and changed the English name's spelling from Chernobyl, based on the Russian spelling, to Chornobyl

[–] Hubi 7 points 6 days ago

I've heard that too. But I bet there's going to be much more than that.

Chernobyl is in Ukraine. Why not get a Ukrainian Voice actor?

Yeah, weren't the bad guys in the original games Russian?

Russia, such a superpower that it's scared of a video game.

GSC made a decision to not sell the game in Russia considering they attacked their home country. It is also a large part of why they were targeted by Russian hackers. Seems weird to ban a game that isn't allowed to be purchased (I'm aware there is likely going to be ways around it) but to me it just shows how scared Russia is of it potentially doing well. The game doesnt even NEED anti-russian sentiments, its existence IS one.

Russia has convinced me that Russia longer has a right to exist.

No, just the government. Just like the Israeli government.

What a fair and just system.

Hey look its our President-elect's "buddy" doing a number on his own country's industries. This will be America in four years.

GSC is Ukrainian, not a Russian enterprise

[–] Sanctus@lemmy.world 3 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Ya'll missed the point. The government is reviewing the game for anti-russian sentiments. Thats our future.

The way you worded your comment made it sound like you were saying GSC is a Russian industry.

Dont really see that, since any game is subject to this when being sold in any country regardless of who made it.
