is doing something with freely a good idea? like if everyone tv launched a freely app? or some special website that has streams on British tv channels without any limit? or should i just wait after?

Your best/cheapest bet is a DNS Proxy because unfortunately UK tv channels are very quick to block VPN IP addresses, so they all tend to stop working quite quickly and then it's a game of whack-a-mole. I use smartdnsproxy, but there are others around that do a similar thing.

I’ve had good luck accessing Channel4 via the NordVPN browser extension in Firefox. Using my desktop VPN (OpenVPN) stopped working some months ago as it was detected by the site but it seems the browser extension flies under the radar.

A VPN would probably do it. I recommend Mullvad.

I've not had great success with Mullvad, it seems like they're a known quantity to the BBC, or at least their VPN endpoints are. I didn't have any WebRTC leaks or anything, but it still saw me as being outside of GB.

Makes sense. You could host your own VPN server in Britain by using a cloud hosting provider.
