Democrats are committed to losing and are turning towards "we gotta be more racist and transphobic".

Seth Moulton also turning on trans people and outright declaring himself transphobic after prior tweets recognising things like Trans Day of Remembrance.

"Progressive era has to end" from Elise Jordan. When was there ever one?

After what we all just witnessed it is beyond me how anyone thinks this isn’t just the system working as intended. Both the Rs and Ds worship capital. That’s the only “both sides” issue that matters to them

Let them eat cake… but remember, the cake is a lie

They're truly just humiliating themselves over and over again.

The democrats have been taking ethnic and racial minorities, women, and the working class for granted for decades. The slow erosion got faster, and now they got what they deserved. With no viable alternative on the left, they turned to the right. And now the democrats are slowly becoming the party of self-loathing white privilege, and they feel comfortable saying that it's "straight-up BS" that poor people matter. Poors, blacks, browns, and uteruses are just supposed to vote Democrat no matter what, right? That's what my privileged, white, college-educated friends tell me anyway. The dems got kicked in the teeth, and (almost) everyone's going to suffer for it.

If the DNC chair had an opinion worth considering then they already would have resigned in the disgrace and shame everyone else feels for them

And this is why I’m betting Sanders is going to found a new political party, and that this is actually the death of the DNC. And all of that is a good thing.

Sanders is 83 years old. He’s already had two opportunities to start a new party, and both times he choose to sheepdog his base to the Democratic party instead. Bernie isn’t going to be our savior.

There's only so long you can pretend not to hear when they tell you exactly who they are.

Anyone who still claims to be against fascism and considers themselves in any way left leaning, and still supports not only democrats, but the idea that the system can somehow be reformed or fixed from within, is either in complete denial or completely full of shit (because they are neither antifascist nor left leaning).

Fun fact: 90% of Democrats quit moving towards the right before getting moderate republican support.

But on a serious note, I remember seeing a bunch of comments on Lemmy about how Trump was guaranteed to lose against Kamala and then far-right would splinter and die out and everything would be fine again, yet this is something that might actually happen to the Democrats, given how they're seemingly pointing fingers at everyone trying to find who to blame and who's responsible. I really hope they don't delude themselves into learning the wrong lessons, but it seems likely to happen.

At this point the only thing I'm hoping for is that this happens in 4 years when Trump can't legally run as president again. No figurehead, no MAGA.

Wishful thinking, but possible.

As for the democratic party, yeah pretty much. I think it's been clear for a while that voters are unhappy with the DNC and reluctantly accept the lack of actual progressive policy. Much like the Republican party has been split from MAGA and "classical conservatism" for lack of a better phrase, the Democratic party has been split between liberals and leftists.

The difference is that classical conservatives will always vote in party lines, making the MAGA figurehead their guaranteed pick.

Democratic don't always pick their party line. Sometimes we get independents or multiple Democrats, sometimes we just don't show up to vote if the candidate isn't as good as they should be. So like many have been saying, if we get an actual leftist candidate, it's possible we would actually have significantly higher voter turnout.
